The school is home to six different fraternities: Kappa Alpha Order, Alpha Phi Alpha, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Pi Kappa Alpha, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Kappa Sigma ; as well as five sororities: Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Delta, Phi Mu, Chi Omega, and Delta Sigma Theta.

Delta Kappa Epsilon ( ΔΚΕ ; also pronounced D-K-E or " Deke ") is a fraternity founded at Yale College in 1844 by 15 men of the sophomore class part of whom hadn't been invited to join the two existing societies ( Alpha Delta Phi and Psi Upsilon ) among others who had been invited to join.

That chapter, the Beta of Skull and Bones, became independent in 1872 in a dispute about control over creating additional chapters ; the Beta Chapter reconstituted itself as Theta Nu Epsilon.

In college at Stanford University, Fossett was already known as an adventurer ; his Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity brothers convinced him to swim to Alcatraz and raise a banner that read " Beat Cal " on the wall of the prison, closed two years previously.

The companion, Epsilon Trianguli Australis B ( or HD 138510 ), is a white A-type main sequence dwarf of spectral type A9IV / V C which has an apparent magnitude of + 9. 32v,

It is located 5 ' south of Epsilon Trianguli Australis.

Epsilon Telescopii is another double star, though this time a true binary system.

Epsilon Telescopii A is an orange giant of spectral type K0III with an apparent magnitude of + 4. 52, with a 13th magnitude companion, Epsilon Telescopii B, 21 arcseconds away from the primary, and just visible with a 15 cm telescope on a dark night.

The planetary nebula IC 4699 is of 13th magnitude and lies midway between Alpha and Epsilon Telescopii.

Thus, although Epsilon is the fifth letter in the Greek alphabet, the star is the tenth brightest star in Eridanus.
