Interestingly, early Danish jazz was influenced by three classically trained musicians: Erik Tuxen ( 1902 – 1957 ), who created one the country's first jazz bands, Bernhard Christensen ( b. 1906 ), a composer of both jazz and classical music, and Sven Møller Kristensen ( 1909 – 1991 ) who wrote lyrics for Christensen as well as a number of books about jazz.
