" They had actually shared the same venues in 1969 – Emerson in The Nice and Lake in King Crimson, first at the 9th Jazz and Blues Pop Festival in Plumpton, England, and at Fairfield Halls in Croydon, England.

In 1981, Howe, John Wetton ( King Crimson ), Carl Palmer ( Emerson, Lake & Palmer ), and Geoff Downes ( The Buggles & Yes ) formed the band Asia, but after two popular albums and a few hit singles, Howe left the band over differences with Wetton.

Crimson and replaced
For their second album, Matching Mole's Little Red Record, released in November 1972 and produced by Robert Fripp of King Crimson, Sinclair was replaced by New Zealand-born keyboard player and composer Dave MacRae who had already played a guest role on the first album.
At midfield, the large white script A was replaced with the script A logo, which is encircled by a crimson ring which has " Alabama Crimson Tide " written around it.
