Ezra and Imagist
Early in his career, he briefly became involved in the Imagist movement through his friendships with Ezra Pound and H. D.
However, Williams, like his peer and friend Ezra Pound, had already rejected the Imagist movement by the time this poem was published as part of Spring and All in 1923.
Around this time he played a crucial role in the formation of Modernism in London by introducing young Imagist poets such as Ezra Pound, Richard Aldington and H. D.

" In a Station of the Metro " is an Imagist poem by Ezra Pound published in 1913 in the literary magazine Poetry.
