Films made by major studios or companies that are not owned by a media conglomerate but are distributed by a company owned by a media conglomerate ( see Lucasfilm ) are also considered to be mainstream and are often referred to as mainstream independent films.

Films made in Bhutan are very few.

Films which are eligible for the award must meet a series of criteria, including the requirement that the costumes must have been " conceived " by a costume designer.

As of 2011, Showtime holds first-run premium cable rights to films from Summit Entertainment, The Weinstein Company, Miramax Films ( also including rights to Dimension Films releases ), DreamWorks Pictures ( live-action releases through Touchstone Pictures only ), CBS Films, First Look Pictures, IFC Films ( rights are shared with Starz ), THINKFilm and Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Unusual Films has produced seven feature-length films: Wine of Morning, Red Runs the River, Flame in the Wind, Sheffey, Beyond the Night, The Printing, and Milltown Pride.

Besides a number of appearances in films produced by her company, Flower Films, including Charlie's Angels, Barrymore had a dramatic role in the comedy / drama Riding in Cars with Boys ( 2001 ), playing a teenage mother in a failed marriage with the drug-addicted father ( based on the real-life story of Beverly D ' Onofrio ).

* In 1947, the studio acquired Frank Capra's production company, Liberty Films, which produced only 2 films in the 1940s: It's a Wonderful Life, released originally by RKO Radio Pictures, and State of the Union, released originally by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer ( the latter made under Paramount ownership ).

Other European productions included a stop motion-animated series of Tove Jansson's The Moomins ( from 1979, often referred to as " The Fuzzy Felt Moomins "), produced by Film Polski and Jupiter Films.

The British artists Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall ( Cosgrove Hall Films ) produced a full length film The Wind in the Willows ( 1983 ) and later a multi-season TV series The Wind in the Willows based on Kenneth Grahame's classic children's book of the same title.

Bullock's production company, Fortis Films, also produced All About Steve, which was released in September 2009.
