At the June 8 edition of Clash of the Champions, it was announced that Luger would challenge Flair for the NWA title at The Great American Bash on July 10 in Baltimore.

Flair broke his back in three places and, at age 26, was told by doctors that he would never wrestle again.

The crash did force Flair to change his wrestling technique away from the power brawling style he had used early on, which led him to adopt the " Nature Boy " style he would use throughout his career.

Over the years, there would be various incarnations of the group, with Flair and Arn Anderson as the two permanent members, while a number of different wrestlers, including Lex Luger, Barry Windham, Sting, Sid Vicious, Paul Roma, Brian Pillman, Chris Benoit, Jeff Jarrett, Steve McMichael, Curt Hennig, and Dean Malenko, have held the other two spots in the Horsemen.

In July 1992, as Savage prepared to defend the title against The Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam, Flair and Mr. Perfect sowed distrust between the two by suggesting that they would back one or the other during their match.

At Starrcade in 1993, Flair was placed in a match, which was billed that if Flair lost, he would retire from wrestling.

Flair would return a month later to feud with Curt Hennig over the US title ( which Hennig won from Steve McMichael ).

Flair would challenge for the title at Halloween Havoc and World War 3, losing both times.

Robinson would be nicknamed " Lil ' Naitch ", idolizing Flair and officiating all of Flair's matches in his favor.

Nevertheless, Flair has repeatedly stated in various interviews how happy he was when WCW finally closed down ; although, at the same time, the fact that many people would lose their jobs saddened him.

After HHH took time off following Vengeance and for the rest of the summer, Flair would become a fan favorite again by beginning a short feud with Kurt Angle.

Vince McMahon retaliated by announcing that the next match Flair lost would result in a forced retirement.

Flair announced that he would reform the Four Horsemen under the new name Fortune, comparing A. J.

The match was used to write Flair off television, as the following week he was scheduled to undergo surgery for his torn rotator cuff, however, Flair ultimately chose not to have the surgery as it would have required six months of rehab.

The event also featured The Rock and Sock Connection versus Batista, Randy Orton, and Ric Flair of Evolution where this 2-on-3 handicap match saw The Rock's last match for over seven years, as well as Steve Austin as the guest referee in an interpromotional singles match between the departing superstars Brock Lesnar ( who would return to the company eight years later ) and Bill Goldberg.

As a result of the procedure, it was announced that he was withdrawing from the Survivor Series match which would have pitted himself ( as a co-captain ), along with Flair, Anderson, Sgt.

One month later, on the March 16 episode of Raw, Piper would get his revenge when he, along with Ric Flair, Jimmy Snuka, and Ricky Steamboat, attacked Jericho.

However, when Flair was fired from WCW in 1991, the NWA would not return his deposit ( as he was technically no longer an NWA employee, since WCW was still affiliated with the NWA at that time ).

McDaniel and Flair would swap the title one more time before the final exchange of the Mid-Atlantic title between the two happened on December 27, 1976, when Wahoo defeated Flair for the belt in a " No Disqualification " match in the Richmond ( VA ) Coliseum.

and if Flair were to interfere, Styles would be stripped of the title and the title would be awarded to Angle.

Flair returned to WCW as a face in February 1993 and, as a result of a " no-compete " clause, hosted a short-lived talk show in WCW called A Flair for the Gold as he was unable to appear wrestling.

It was announced on July 8, 2012 that Flair was to appear at Insane Clown Posse's wrestling promotion Juggalo Championship Wrestling at the Gathering of the Juggalos weekend.

However, Sting had been out since Bret Hart attacked him at Halloween Havoc in October and would not appear again until March 1999 ; by that time the nWo reunion story had largely petered out in favor of Ric Flair taking control of WCW, and most of the nWo members had been sidelined due to injuries.

Five years later, Mr. T reappeared as a special referee for a Hogan-Ric Flair match, in October 1994, at WCW's Halloween Havoc, and then went on to wrestle again, defeating Kevin Sullivan at that year's Starrcade.

Once again as a top babyface, Flair played a major role in the New World Order invasion storyline in late 1996 and throughout 1997.

On the December 11, 2006 edition of Raw, Flair returned to team up with DX again.

The following year on February 9 Flair once again confronted Chris Jericho on Raw.

Flair lost to Hogan again on November 24 in Perth, Australia.

Wahoo feuded again with the now babyface Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight title at various times before Flair turned heel again.

At Slammiversary VIII Styles attempted to win Flair back by defeating Lethal, but ended up on losing side again, this time in a singles match.

Vader continued to feud with Flair until SuperBrawl IV, when Flair once again defeated Vader, this time in a " Thundercage " match.

Flair once again intervened ( this time in drag ) and managed to cost Vader the match by getting himself carried by Hogan as he touched all four turnbuckle pads.

He would later turn heel once again by helping the heel gimmick of Ric Flair in his feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin, leading to Austin literally urinating on him.

Several months later he became a face once again and attempted to help a then-babyface Flair gain ( kayfabe ) sole ownership of WWE during a match with the heel gimmick of Vince McMahon, but backed down from a confrontation with Brock Lesnar, who entered the ring to assist McMahon.

Determined not to lose the title again, Race offered a $ 25, 000 bounty to anyone who could eliminate Flair from the NWA.

Mike would wrestle Flair in a " 10 Minute Challenge Match " and if Flair beat Mike in that 10 minutes, David would never again ask for another shot at the NWA World title, but if Flair did not beat Mike in those 10 minutes, David would get to name the place, the time and every stipulation for his match against Ric Flair.

They won again two weeks later when Carlito turned on Flair, attacking him and allowing The World's Greatest Tag Team to win via countout.

Anderson arrived again but got laid out by Flair, who ran off into the fans.

Despite this, some wrestlers, such as Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Ken Shamrock, The Undertaker, Dean Malenko, and Chris Benoit, became famous for winning matches via submission.

Turner recorded for many of the key R & B record labels of the 1950s and 1960s, including Chess, Modern, Trumpet, Flair and Sue.

During the 1950s he recorded for the Bihari brothers ' Flair Records, Meteor Records and Modern Records labels, as well as for Chess Records and Mel London's Chief Records ( his " It Hurts Me Too " was later a hit when he re-recorded it for Enjoy Records ).
