The lake has one small island near Union Springs, Frontenac Island.

One of the few Finger Lakes islands, Frontenac Island, is located near Union Springs.

Camp Barton is a Boy Scouts of America camp located on on Frontenac Point on the west shore of Cayuga Lake in New York State's Finger Lakes.

The village is located on the Trumansburg Creek ( also known as Frontenac Creek ) which arises on the ridge west of the village and empties into Cayuga Lake at Frontenac Point.
