After almost 30 years of its release, Gaynor continues to ride the success of " I Will Survive ", touring the country and the world over and performing her signature song on dozens of TV shows.

* Lynne Perrie, best known for her role as Ivy Tilsley in Coronation Street, performing a tuneless and embarrassing rendition of the Gloria Gaynor classic " I Will Survive ".

Gaynor would achieve her final success in the ' 80s with the release of her album I Am Gloria Gaynor in 1984.

In the next few years, Gloria Gaynor released the albums Glorious and Park Avenue Sound, but would only enjoy a few moderate hits.

The band toured to support the release, playing as a basic five-piece ( Kerr, Burchill, Gaynor, Foster and Taylor ) and cutting down on the extended arrangements of the last few large tours.

It sampled the first few bars from " I Will Survive " by Gloria Gaynor.

However, since the directing award was for " directing " rather than " best director ", it honored the director in association with only a single film — thus Janet Gaynor has two Frank Borzage films listed after her Best Actress nomination, but only one of them earned Borzage a directing nomination.

Gaynor also recorded a disco song called " Love Is Just a Heartbeat Away " in 1979 for the vampire movie Nocturna: Granddaughter of Dracula which featured a number of disco songs.

For a number of years, Gaynor was the Fox studios foremost actress and was given the choice of prime roles, starring in such films as Sunny Side Up ( 1929 ), Delicious ( 1931 ), Merely Mary Ann ( also 1931 ), and Adorable ( 1933 ), as well as State Fair ( 1933 ) with Will Rogers and The Farmer Takes a Wife ( 1935 ), which introduced Henry Fonda to the screen as Gaynor's leading man.

She shared the female lead with Janet Gaynor, Loretta Young and Constance Bennett, some of whom objected to the large number of scenes that Simon was getting.

Also in the accident were Janet Gaynor, who died two years later from complications from her injuries, Gaynor's husband Paul Gregory, who survived, and Martin's press agent Ben Washer, who died in the accident.

Dick Talaugon's father Federico Talaugon leased a large house from the Gaynor family on the site of the current Phillips oil storage facility.

On July 30, 2008, Gaynor, along with Kenny Ortega, Elizabeth Berkley, Shirley MacLaine and cast members from High School Musical, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, and a host of others, participated in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences TV Moves Live, a celebration of 60 years of dance on television.

The film, which was broadcast on public television and released on DVD, includes showstopping moments from the original specials ( digitally remastered in 5. 1 stereo ) along with newly-taped interviews with Gaynor colleagues, friends, and admirers including Bob Mackie, Carl Reiner, Kristin Chenoweth, Rex Reed, Tony Charmoli, Alton Ruff, Randy Doney, and Kelli O ' Hara.
