Although Gris regarded Picasso as a teacher, Gertrude Stein wrote in The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas that " Juan Gris was the only person whom Picasso wished away ".

Gertrude Chataway ( 1866 – 1951 ) was the most important child friend in the life of the author, after Alice Liddell.

Matisse and Picasso were first brought together at the Paris salon of Gertrude Stein and her companion Alice B. Toklas.

And then Gertrude and Herman's son Frederick I, Margrave of Baden's claim was asserted to the Babenberg inheritance, but he was killed in 1268, leaving a sister ( the future Countess of Heunburg ) to continue the line.

The terms Nobilissimus ( most noble ) and nobilissima familia ( most noble family ) have been used since the 11th century for the King of Hungary and his family, but it were then only a few, among them also Gertrude, which were mentioned in official documents as such.
