Giacomo Puccini

Giacomo Puccini ( full name: Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini ) (; Lucca 22 December 1858Brussels 29 November 1924 ) was an Italian composer whose operas are among the most frequently performed in the standard repertoire.

During this tour he wrote three new comic operas and he also collaborated with Giacomo Rust on one opera, Il Talismano ( The Talismand ).

Jacopo Amigoni ( 1682 – 1752 ), also named Giacomo Amiconi, was an Italian painter of the late-Baroque or Rococo period, who began his career in Venice, but traveled and was prolific throughout Europe, where his sumptuous portraits were much in demand.

He was also a friend of Giacomo Casanova.

On two wheels, the most famous Flying Finn was Jarno Saarinen, also known as The Baron, who won the 250cc road racing World Championship as privateer in 1972, and finished a close second to Giacomo Agostini in the 350cc class.

Vanitas vanitatum is also the title of an oratorio written by Italian Baroque composer Giacomo Carissimi ( 1604 / 1605-1674 ).

He collaborated with Giacomo Meyerbeer on a number of occasions, and also provided the words for works by Giuseppe Verdi, Vincenzo Bellini, Daniel Auber ( La muette de Portici, Gustave III and others ), Fromental Halévy ( including La Juive, Guido et Ginevra, and Le Juif errant ), François-Adrien Boieldieu, Gaetano Donizetti and Gioachino Rossini ( Le comte Ory ).

It is also the usual translation for the title of Giacomo Meyerbeer's 1831 opera Robert le diable, which has little in common with the legend except the name of the hero.

The roll of honour of the school includes the following other Italians: Giacomo Albanese, Bertini, Campedelli, Oscar Chisini, Michele De Franchis, Pasquale del Pezzo, Beniamino Segre, Francesco Severi, Guido Zappa ( with contributions also from Gino Fano, Rosati, Torelli, Giuseppe Veronese ).

The film had an original score by Sigmund Romberg and reused the popular David Belasco stage plot ( also employed by opera composer Giacomo Puccini for La fanciulla del West ).

* The Girl of the Golden West ( 1938 ) had an original score by Sigmund Romberg and reused the David Belasco stage plot also employed by Giacomo Puccini for La Fanciulla del West.

The order has also numbered several cardinals, the first of these being Giacomo Antonio Morigia, raised to the cardinalate in 1699.

Adamastor is also mentioned in the opera L ' Africaine ( 1865 ) about Vasco da Gama by the composer Giacomo Meyerbeer.
