The BLA was active in the US until at least 1981 when a Brinks truck robbery, conducted with support from Weather Underground members Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, left a guard and two police officers dead.

Gilbert and his partner, Kathy Boudin, remained active even following the birth of their son, Chesa Boudin, in August 1980.

Shortly after turning themselves in, Dohrn and Ayers became legal guardians of Chesa Boudin, the son of former members of the Weather Underground, Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, after the couple were convicted of murder for their roles in a 1981 armored car robbery.

Boudin and Gilbert, along with several BLA members, were subsequently arrested.

While Gilbert and Boudin waited in a U-Haul truck in a nearby parking lot, armed BLA members took another vehicle to the mall, where a Brinks truck was making a delivery.

Gilbert and Boudin surrendered but when the officers tried to search the back of the vehicle BLA members emerged shooting.

After grabbing the cash, they drove to another location where they transferred the money to a U-Haul truck driven by Boudin and her husband David Gilbert.

In addition to the amateur productions that are presented and compete at the Festival each year, there are weekend professional performances given by companies such as the Carl Rosa Opera Company, Opera della Luna, the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Charles Court Opera and the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, which has starred such well-known G & S performers as Richard Suart, Simon Butteriss, Bruce Graham, Gillian Knight, Barry Clark, Michael Rayner, Patricia Leonard, Donald Maxwell, Jill Pert, Gareth Jones, Charlotte Page, Oliver White, Rebecca Bottone, Ian Belsey and the Opera Babes.

Included in the group were Gilbert Bilezikian, W. Ward Gasque, Stanley Gundry, Gretchen Gaebelein Hull, Catherine Clark Kroeger, Jo Anne Lyon, and Roger Nicole.

Clark was the driver of a nearby getaway car, into which one of the robbers and David Gilbert jumped after the gun battle.

Clark was charged with three counts of felony murder and was tried together with David Gilbert and Kuwesi Balagoon.
