The Francophone section of Switzerland soon found itself dominated by French stars like Johnny Hallyday, and soon Swiss artists like Les Aiglons, Larry Greco and Les Faux-Frères became major artists.

Also evident in the Gesta Guillelmi is the importance of the Roman and Greco tradition to the medieval literary apparatus.

The world center for cameo carving in shell is Torre del Greco, Italy.

It dramatises the Persian response to news of their military defeat at the Battle of Salamis ( 480 BC ), which was a decisive episode in the Greco – Persian Wars ; as such, the play is also notable for being the only extant Greek tragedy that is based on contemporary events.

The work of El Greco is a particularly clear example of Mannerism in painting during the late 16th, early 17th centuries.

Torre del Greco ( English: " Tower of the Greek ") is a city and comune in the Province of Naples in the Italian region of Campania, with a population of some 88, 000 as of 2007. People are sometimes called Corallini because of the once plentiful coral in the nearby sea, and because the city has been a major producer of coral jewellery and cameo brooches since the seventeenth century.

Greco painted two portraits of Clovio ; one shows the four painters whom he considered as his masters ; in this Clovio is side by side with Michelangelo, Titian and Raphael.
