A robot double of Brainiac frees Gorilla Grodd from his prison so he can take revenge on Gorilla City for imprisoning him.

* In Justice League Unlimited, Grodd renewed his attempts to create a new Secret Society ( which is also a base-off for the Legion of Doom ) to take on the expanded Justice League by recruiting Lex Luthor and any villain he can obtain.

No reason was given for this new ability, but shortly afterwards Rex joined ' The Bureau of Amplified Animals ', an organisation of animals with abnormally high intellect run by Detective Chimp to help mankind, and was instrumental in defeating Grodd again ; also revealing that he can speak, and possesses ' the knowledge of force of mind, and how to use it '.

There is also a tribe of highly intelligent, telepathic gorillas living in an invisible city hidden in Africa ; this is the home of Gorilla Grodd.

This was part of a grouping of super-powered individuals, most villains, also brainwashed by Gorilla Grodd.

Grodd and fellow gorilla Solovar also develop telepathic and telekinetic powers.

Grodd found another space-rock, identical to the one that had given him his powers, and contacted Hector Hammond, a human who had also gained similar powers to him.

Grodd is also seen in the Superman / Batman arc " Public Enemies " ( Superman / Batman # 1 – # 7 ) controlling numerous villains and heroes in order to take down Superman and Batman for the prize of 1 billion dollars offered by then U. S. President Lex Luthor.

Sam is changed, too ; he is not only employed by " DZ Comics " as an artist, but is also the grandson of Gorilla Grodd, a nemesis of The Flash.

* In Justice League Unlimited, Dr. Polaris ( wearing his original costume and played by voice actor Michael Rosenbaum, who also plays the Flash ) is seen as a member of the new Secret Society of Super Villains ( Legion of Doom ) led by Gorilla Grodd ; here, he is portrayed as one of the Legion's most powerful members. Polaris and the Key rescue Lex Luthor from the pursuing cops and brought him to Grodd.

One of Grodd ’ s widest-ranging schemes was to arrange Solovar's assassination and manipulate Gorilla City into war against humanity, with the aid of a " shadow cabinet " of prominent gorillas called Simian Scarlet.

In Final Crisis # 4, Gorilla Grodd was among the high-ranked superheroes and supervillains that were turned into Justifiers.

As he describes it, the new Secret Society is a sort of co-op for supervillains – each free to act on their own, but ( for twenty-five percent of their spoils ) able to call in help should they need it against the expanded League. After having the Secret Society seek out various valuable artifacts over the course of the season, Grodd reveals his master plan: to turn every human on the planet into an ape.

Grodd is released from Luthor's mental grip and then shot into space, all the while screaming threats of revenge.

Prior to Infinite Crisis, Grundy is manipulated by Gorilla Grodd via mind control into attacking Batman and Superman for President Luthor for the bounty of one billion dollars in Superman / Batman.

Gorilla Grodd and his Secret Society broke into his mansion to free Clayface from his prison.

Gorilla Grodd recruits him into the Secret Society, along with Giganta, Killer Frost, Shade, and Sinestro to resurrect Clayface and defeat the Justice League in the episode, " Secret Society ".

Her origin is more in-line with that of her DC animated universe counterpart, having originally been a gorilla altered into a human, though she has no known connections with Grodd or Gorilla City itself.

She was once a small female ape, transformed by Grodd, whereupon she becomes Grodd's devoted follower and has become a returning member of his Secret Society ( based on the Legion of Doom ). In " Secret Society ," Giganta recruits The Shade into Grodd's Secret Society. The Shade, when revealed Gigantas background as a gorilla, glances at her eating a banana and simply shrugs and smiles at her, showing that he doesn't mind overall.

However her joy is short-lived, as she ages into adulthood after defeating Gorilla Grodd.

" Solovar was seen fighting Gorilla Grodd's Secret Society when Gorilla Grodd plans to use an artifact stolen from the temple Deadman was living at in order turn all the humans into gorillas.

In The Time Trap, Grodd creates a method of time-travel, which the Legion of Doom apparently uses other times.

Having watched the League via secret cameras for weeks, Grodd manipulates their feelings until the Leaguers start lashing out at each other and end up walking away from the team.

Because of Luthor's heavy-handed leadership and romantic disinterest, the spurned Tala eventually releases Grodd, who then arranges a mutiny with many other villains.
