Bernard Haitink, former principal conductor, has won two Grammy Awards, including one with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for the recording of Shostakovich ’ s Fourth Symphony on the CSO Resound label.

The KCO has begun to issue CDs on its own label, RCO Live, as conducted by Jansons and Haitink.

Haitink has also continued his long associations with the Vienna Philharmonic and Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

With respect to this contract, Haitink stated that " every conductor, including myself, has a sell-by date.

Haitink has made many recordings for several labels, including Philips Records, EMI Classics, Columbia Records, LSO Live, KCO Live, and CSO Resound.

Haitink has five children from his first marriage to Marjolein Snijder.

Despite its dubious scholarship Haas's edition has proved enduringly popular: conductors such as Herbert von Karajan, Bernard Haitink and Günter Wand continued to use it even after the Nowak / 1890 edition was published, while noted Bruckner conductor Georg Tintner has written that the Haas edition is " the best " version of the symphony and referred to Haas himself as " brilliant ".

Over the course of her career, Fialkowska has performed with many of the world ’ s finest conductors, including Sir Georg Solti, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Sir Roger Norrington, Sir Andrew Davis, Bernard Haitink, Hans Graf, Charles Dutoit, Kyril Kondrashin, Leonard Slatkin, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Thomas Dausgaard and Eiji Oue.

The Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Choir were conducted by Bernard Haitink ; the chamber orchestra ( consisting of Concertgebouw Orchestra instrumentalists ) by Britten himself.

A 1993 production of Die Meistersinger, conducted by Haitink and starring John Tomlinson, Thomas Allen, Gosta Winbergh and Nancy Gustafson, was widely admired, as was Richard Eyre's 1994 staging of La traviata, conducted by Solti and propelling Angela Gheorghiu to stardom.

When the house reopened in December 1999, magnificently restored, Falstaff was the opera given on the opening night, conducted by Haitink, once more with Terfel in the title role.

Haitink conducted Parsifal, with Tomlinson, Christopher Ventris and Petra Lang in 2007, and Davis conducted four Mozart operas between 2002 and 2011, Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos in 2007 and Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel in 2008.

Haitink and the Concertgebouw Orchestra also recorded the concerto two other times, one with Vladimir Ashkenazy and one with Arthur Rubinstein.

In August 2002, Bernard Haitink took up the post, until his resignation in 2004 over disputes with the Staatskapelle's Intendant, Gerd Uecker, on the orchestra's choice of successor.

Bernard Haitink made his debut with the Concertgebouw Orchestra on 7 November 1956.

The recording profile of the orchestra increased most dramatically under Haitink, with many recordings for the Philips Records, as well as EMI and Columbia Records.

Riccardo Chailly made his debut with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1985, and was elected that year as their next chief conductor to succeed Haitink.

He became principal conductor of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1961, and shared that position jointly with Eugen Jochum until 1963, when Haitink became sole principal conductor.

With the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Haitink made many recordings for the Philips label, and later Decca and EMI Classics, and toured widely with the orchestra.

His original contract with Dresden was through 2006, but Haitink resigned in 2004 over disputes with the Staatskapelle's Intendant, Gerd Uecker, on the orchestra's choice of successor.

In April 2006, after an acclaimed two-week engagement in March 2006 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra ( CSO ), the CSO appointed Haitink to the newly created position of principal conductor, effective as of the 2006-2007 season.

However, an April 2007 announcement stated that Haitink would return to the Royal Opera in December 2007, with the same Zurich production of Parsifal, and he fulfilled this engagement.
