Hani Hanjour, one of the hijackers who was trained as a pilot, assumed control of the flight.

The hijackers on American Airlines Flight 77 were led by Hani Hanjour, who piloted the aircraft into the Pentagon.

On August 1, Mihdhar and fellow Flight 77 hijacker Hani Hanjour drove to Virginia in order to obtain driver's licenses.

In March 2001, Moqed, Hani Hanjour, Hazmi and Ahmed al-Ghamdi rented a minivan and travelled to Fairfield, Connecticut.

They claimed that Hani Hanjour spoke very little English, and Moqed did most of the speaking.

Three days later he was seen on an ATM camera with Hani Hanjour.

Moqed helped to hijack the plane and assisted Hani Hanjour in crashing the plane into the Pentagon at 9: 37 A. M., killing 189 people ( 64 on the plane and 125 on the ground ).

In early September 2001, Atta traveled to Maryland, where fellow hijacker Hani Hanjour was at the time.

Hazmi stayed in California until he met up with Hani Hanjour in December 2000 and they both traveled to Phoenix, Arizona.

The next morning, Nawaf al-Hazmi, along with four other terrorists, boarded American Airlines Flight 77 and hijacked the plane so that Hani Hanjour could pilot and crash the plane into the Pentagon as part of the September 11 attacks.

* Mid-March 2001: Nawaf al-Hazmi, Ahmed al-Ghamdi, Majed Moqed, and Hani Hanjour stay for four days in the Fairfield Motor Inn, Fairfield, Connecticut.

The fourth hijacker-pilot, Hani Hanjour, arrived in San Diego in December 2000.

Two hijackers, Hani Hanjour and Majed Moqed were identified by clerks as having bought single, first-class tickets for Flight 77 from Advance Travel Service in Totowa, New Jersey with $ 1, 842. 25 in cash.

Nawaf al-Hazmi and Hani Hanjour, attended the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia in early April 2001 where radical Imam Anwar al-Awlaki preached.

On September 11, 2001, Hazmi boarded American Airlines Flight 77 and helped subdue the passengers and crew for Hani Hanjour, the pilot among the hijackers, to crash the plane into west facade of the Pentagon.

Hazmi moved to Paterson, New Jersey where he lived with Hani Hanjour.

They were joined there by 9 / 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Hani Hanjour who had moved out of San Diego and Arizona after living in or visiting Abdussattar Shaikh's house, where Khalid al-Mihdhar also stayed.

Hani Hanjour entered the United States on a student visa but never even showed up on campus.

Hani Hanjour arrived in San Diego on December 8, 2000, joining Hamzi there.

In the early 1990s, he toured and recorded with Hani Naser adding percussive instruments to his solo performances, and his instrumental repertoire which he uses in his session work.

A computer technician, he had lived in West Paterson, New Jersey until 2000, then moved to Falls Church, Virginia where he befriended two of the hijackers, Hani Hanjour and Nawaf Alhazmi, at the Dar Al Hijra mosque in March 2001.

Hani politics are tradition-bound, based on such concepts as allegiance, honor, blood feud and parole.
