Massachusetts-based Hardcore Punk band Defeater has released two full length albums and one EP telling the story of an alcoholic WWII veteran and the trials and tribulations of his family.

It features mostly new material, plus re-recordings of four very obscure Devo songs: " I Need A Chick " and " I Been Refused " ( from Hardcore Devo: Volume Two ), " Find Out " ( which appeared on the single and EP of " Peek-A-Boo " in 1982 ), and " Beehive " ( which was recorded by the band in 1974, at which point it was apparently abandoned with the exception of one appearance at a special show in 2001 ).

The band would release two further albums, This Is Hardcore ( 1998 ) and We Love Life ( 2001 ), after which they entered an extended hiatus, having sold more than 10 million records.

On 11 September 2006 the band re-released three of their albums ( His ' n ' Hers, Different Class, and This Is Hardcore ), each with a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and rarities.

After signing to major European label Phonogram Records in 1993, the band received a large financial advance which they duplicitously used to set up their own record label: Digital Hardcore Recordings ( DHR ).
