It seems therefore that the person who was related to Herodes Atticus was Gordian I's mother or grandmother and not his wife.

There is some evidence to suggest that Gordian's mother may have been the granddaughter of Greek Sophist, consul and tutor Herodes Atticus.

In 88 BC it becomes a municipium and undergoes changes typical of the Romans such as the passage of the Via Traiana ( 109 AD ) the construction of the aqueduct of Herodes Atticus ( 141 AD ), amphitheater, and mausoleums.

There are also a clay statue of a woman in prayer and some lead of the aqueduct of Herodes Atticus

In 1607 / 08 he wrote another tragedy, Herodes infanticida (‘ The Massacre of the Innocents ’), which was published only in 1632.

He was the pupil of the celebrated Herodes Atticus, and obtained the chair of philosophy at Athens during the lifetime of his master.

When Regilla and Herodes Atticus married, Regilla was 14 years old and Herodes Atticus was 40 years old.

Herodes Atticus, at one point in time, received up to three letters a day from Emperor Marcus Aurelius.

The Emperor also waited three days in Smyrna for the honor of meeting the student of Herodes and Polemo, Aelius Aristides.

Regilla bore Herodes Atticus six children, whom three survived to adulthood.
