One story that is not by Don Rosa says that the Guidebook is updated by an unknown author.

Also, in Don Quixote by Cervantes, there are many stories within the story that influence the hero's actions ( there are others that even the author himself admits are purely digressive ).

Another possible author could have been Don Cristóbal Velasco, who, also in Titulo de Totonicapán, is listed as " Nim Chokoh Cavec " (' Great Steward of the Kaweq ').
