Idaho State's athletics teams compete in the Big Sky Conference, the football and basketball teams play in Holt Arena.

Home football games are played at Holt Arena which has a seating capacity of 12, 000 for football games and is the oldest enclosed stadium on a college campus in the United States.

This multi-purpose concept had been recently used at Idaho State in Pocatello, where the Minidome ( now Holt Arena ) had opened in 1970.
