The Honors college enrolls 3523 undergraduate students, 613 of whom are National Merit Scholars.

Now known as The Macaulay Honors College University Scholars Program, it graduated its first class in 2005, attracting students with a mean high school GPA of 3. 5 and SAT scores of 1365 for the Class of 2009.

Graduating high school students with Ivy League caliber academic records have given the Honors College a closer look as a result, and this has had a trickle-down effect in improving the image of CUNY as a whole, which prior to the inception of the HC had been criticized as ' an institution adrift ' by the Giuliani administration.

Unlike honors programs at individual CUNY colleges, Macaulay Honors College students must be accepted into and begin the program as freshmen.

; Honors Horizon: The Honors Horizon program ( started in September 2006 ) is aimed at bachelor students who are interested in introducing a multidisciplinary component into their program.

Honors Horizon is intended to " expand students ' horizon ", by offering multidisciplinary honors classes, research activities and other activities that encourage academic well-roundedness.

Qualifying students can choose between the Honors programs, or follow both at the same time.

* Eastern Shore – Freshmen Honors College Students – Completed in 2009, and housing approximately 200 students in suite-style rooms holding up to four residents sharing a single bathroom.

For Full Honors, students must complete two years ( 16 – 20 credits ) of lower division honors courses, two years of a foreign language, mathematics at the pre-calculus level or higher, 12 credits of upper division coursework in their major or minor that have been " honorized ", and a capstone project in the final semester before graduation.

The new Donna Garff Marriott Honors Residential Scholars Community, a dormitory for honors students, is to be completed Fall 2012.

The International Honors College ( Lloyd ) is a selective honors college at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and provides undergraduate students in all majors an opportunity to reach a higher level of academic achievement in the same time it takes to earn a regular degree.

The College offers three Honors academic programs that allows students to enhance their general-education studies ( General-Education Honors Program ), work in their major ( Disciplinary Honors Program ), or their entire undergraduate education while at UNCG ( Full University Honors Program ).

All Honors students take special Honors courses that are generally restricted to no more than 20 – 25 students and often have an interdisciplinary focus.

There are also a variety of independent study and research opportunities that give Honors students the chance to design courses that fit their special needs and interests and to work one-on-one with faculty.

Finally, Lloyd International Honors College offers a variety of extracurricular opportunities including weekly coffees where students and faculty discuss issues of the day, student symposia, debates, special lectures and performances, enhanced study abroad opportunities, and special residence hall options.

* The Science Honors Research Program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to conduct high level research on projects that they design, develop, and implement.

Driscoll Hall is the home of the Honors College, this is where a vast majority of the Honor students live and hang out.

Honors students also have round-the-clock access to the Honors Center for recreation and quiet study.

The university also has an Honors Program, and the SJLA ( Special Jesuit Liberal Arts ) Program in which select students complete courses in moral philosophy, ethics, theology, and the humanities in addition to their normal course load.

The halls also have a number of Living-Learning communities that directly link the on-campus living environment with a specific academic focus in Honors, engineering, natural sciences, health and wellness, equine sciences, leadership development, or pre-veterinary medicine.

The building also houses the Honors Program office, Student Academic Services as well as other programs and offices.

Eligible students can also participate in the College's Honors Program.
