With help from Rick Chertoff, Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman ( of The Hooters ) as her primary studio musicians, She's So Unusuals popularity spread like wildfire.

Two of the members, Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, had originally met in 1971 at the University of Pennsylvania and had played in a band in the late 1970s, based in Philadelphia, called Baby Grand, which also featured local singer, David Kagan.

In 1983 Bazilian and Hyman got together to write once again and decided to give the band one more try.

And the band's booking was taken over by others, leaving Hyman and Bazilian to concentrate solely on the music.

Besides Bazilian and Hyman, only drummer David Uosikkinen was retained from the original grouping.

That same year, Bazilian and Hyman were asked to write, arrange and play on the debut album of a relatively unknown singer named Cyndi Lauper, She's So Unusual, who was being produced by their former producer and unofficial bandmate from Baby Grand, Rick Chertoff.

The tracks were recorded, under Boynton's direction and Ford's musical direction, by an eclectic roster of actors and musicians, including Blues Traveler, Meryl Streep, Alison Krauss, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, Kevin Kline, Laura Linney, " Weird Al " Yankovic duetting with Kate Winslet, Patti LuPone, The Bacon Brothers with Mickey Hart, Eric Stoltz, the Spin Doctors, Mark Lanegan, Hootie & the Blowfish, Natasha Richardson, Billy J. Kramer, Scott Bakula, Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, and The Phenomenauts.

In the ' 80s and ' 90s, he worked with Kenny Barron, Rufus Reid, Buck Clayton, Benny Carter, Billy Taylor, Harry Edison, Mel Tormé, Ernestine Anderson, Louie Bellson, John Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Dick Hyman, Byron Stripling, Jane Jarvis, Frank Vignola and was a featured member of the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra.

Linda Creed also worked with fellow Philadelphia native Phyllis Hyman on many of her songs, most notably " Old Friend ".

The television film incorporated additional footage not included in the original films, including Don Fanucci being attacked by street thugs, Vito Corleone's first encounter with Hyman Roth, Vito killing two of the mafiosi who worked for Don Ciccio and were instrumental in his family's death, Michael Corleone's reunion with his father after his return from Sicily, and Sonny Corleone's taking charge of the family after his father is severely wounded.

Hyman played with Sniper under the name Jeff Starship.

In 1974, Jeffry Hyman co-founded the punk rock band the Ramones with friends John Cummings and Douglas Colvin, upon which point all three adopted stage names using " Ramone " as their surname: Cummings became Johnny Ramone, Colvin became Dee Dee Ramone, and Hyman became Joey Ramone.

It is the block where Hyman once lived with bandmate Dee Dee Ramone, and is near the former site of the music club CBGB, where the Ramones got their start.

Lauper co-wrote " Time After Time " with Rob Hyman when her producer, Rick Chertoff, suggested to the band that the album could use one more song.
