The highway was built in the mid 1960s as SR 365 ; it was designated as I-985 in 1985.

I-985 heads northeast from the southern terminus at I – 85, towards Gainsville.

I-985 is also concurrent with US 23 from exit 4 northward ; US 23 was moved onto the Interstate once it was completed.

After exit 24, I-985 ends, and the freeway becomes a four-lane highway with at-grade intersections.

I-985 is the highest-numbered spur route of a north-south Interstate, and is second only to I-990, which serves the Buffalo metropolitan area.

Interstate 985 ( I-985 ) is a long auxiliary Interstate Highway in the northeastern part of the U. S. state of Georgia.

I-985 is also known as the Sidney Lanier Parkway and is also designated as unsigned State Route 419.

It begins at I-85 ( which is also the southern end of SR 365 ) near Suwanee and continues northward to the city of Gainesville.

This is also the southern terminus of SR 365.

Here, SR 365 continues northeast, toward Cornelia.

The two main commercial operators ( Seaspeed and Hoverlloyd ) merged in 1981 to form Hoverspeed, which operated six SR. N4 of all marks.

SR 120 appeared in its current form in the 1940 renumbering, replacing a small part of SR 9, which itself had replaced the original designation of State Route 25 in the 1933 renumbering.

With the 1957 realignment, the routing of SR 25 attained its final form.

By 1947, the west end of SR 76 was realigned and paved ; along with a paved SR 77, this new pavement would eventually form the majority of SR 163.

In Pendleton SR 9 has a concurrency with U. S. Route 36 and State Road 67.

Then just south of downtown Marion SR 9 has a concurrency with State Road 15.

After it enters Columbia City SR 9 has a concurrency with State Road 205.

The concurrency ends in downtown Columbia City at Old U. S. Route 30, where SR 205 turns east.

SR 9 heads north out of Albion, then SR 9 has a concurrency with U. S. Route 6.

SR 620 also has a short concurrency with SR 659 / Union Mill Road in Centreville.

Just before leaving the center of Akron, an interchange with Perkins Street begins a concurrency with SR 59.

Following its intersection with SR 17, SR 8 enters a brief concurrency with SR 43, during which it intersects I-480.

SR 8 / US 422 continues to the northwest through the immediate Cleveland area ; during its approach to downtown Cleveland, SR 87 joins the concurrency, followed by an interchange with I-77.

For its final mile, SR 8 / SR 87 / US 422 picks up a concurrency of SR 14 / SR 43, after which the road becomes known as Ontario Street and turns toward Public Square, the northern terminus of SR 8.

US 17-US 92-US 441 ( Orange Blossom Trail ) serves as the western end of the U. S. Route 17 / 92 ( SR 500 / SR 600 ) concurrency.

Here, US 17-92 ( and FL 600 ) end their concurrency with US 441, and join SR 50, while US 441 and the Orange Blossom Trail move further northwest in Florida and beyond.

The competition was won by Siw Malmkvist performing " Augustin ", but SR decided that the winning song — regardless of its original performer — would be performed by Brita Borg at Eurovision.

The Governor Albert D. Rosellini Bridge — Evergreen Point ( formerly the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, and commonly called the SR 520 Bridge or 520 Bridge ) is the longest floating bridge on Earth at ( floating section ) and carries State Route 520 across Lake Washington from Seattle to Medina.

The project, using financing from increased tolls, was originally projected to be finished in 2005, but in 2009 there were still short stretches without the added lanes — one at the west end of the project in Lucas and Wood counties, and the other in Summit County at exit 180 ( SR 8 ); construction on the former stretch is to begin construction in 2012, while the latter is to begin in 2011 and be completed in 2012.

There is a Business SR 13 from Main St. ( SRSR 114 ) to SR 13 at North Manchester — labeled as " Wayne St .", it follows the original route of SR 13 through town.

I-575 is now co-signed throughout its length with SR 5, which was completely removed from its former alignment in 1985 – 86 over a nearly stretch from Marietta all the way to north of Ellijay — far beyond the I-575 terminal point.

The approximately one-mile section between exits 46 and 47 carries eight routes — I-465, US 31, US 36, US 40, US 52, US 421, SR 37 and SR 67.

In some SR techniques — termed optical SR -- the diffraction limit of systems is transcended, while in others -- geometrical SR — the resolution of digital imaging sensors is enhanced.

East of 12th Street, SR 195 ascends onto a two-level viaduct — eastbound on the upper level and westbound on the lower level — east to its directional interchange with I-95 ( Richmond – Petersburg Turnpike ) at the north end of James River Bridge just east of the railroad Triple Crossing at the southeastern corner of Downtown Richmond.

These 2001 and 2007 relinquishments left Caltrans maintaining only two pieces of SR 275 — the Tower Bridge and the west end through the Jefferson Boulevard ( SR 84 ) interchange — for a total of about 0. 9 miles ( 1. 4 km ), under half of the 1967-2001 length.
