The groups of companies that form IKEA are all controlled by INGKA Holding., a Dutch corporation, which in turn is controlled by a tax-exempt, not-for-profit Dutch foundation.

INGKA Holding B. V. owns the industrial group Swedwood, which sources the manufacturing of IKEA furniture, the sales companies that run IKEA stores, as well as purchasing and supply functions, and IKEA of Sweden, which is responsible for the design and development of products in the IKEA range.

INGKA Holding B. V. is wholly owned by Stichting INGKA Foundation, which is a non-profit foundation registered in Leiden, Netherlands.

The INGKA Group ( not to be confused with INGKA Holding B. V .) is the biggest franchisee of Inter IKEA Systems B. V. Inter IKEA Systems B. V. is not owned by INGKA Holding B. V., but by Inter IKEA Holding S. A. registered in Luxembourg, which in turn is controlled by the Interogo Foundation in Liechtenstein.

Most of IKEA's operations, including the management of the majority of its stores, the design and manufacture of its furniture, and purchasing and supply functions are overseen by INGKA Holding, a private, for-profit Dutch company.

Of the IKEA stores in 36 countries, 235 are run by the INGKA Holding.

The remaining 30 stores are run by franchisees outside of the INGKA Holding.

Stores located on the East Coast including Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria are owned by INGKA Holding.

Because INGKA Holding is owned by the nonprofit INGKA Foundation, none of this profit is taxed.

The foundation's nonprofit status also means that the Kamprad family cannot reap these profits directly, but the Kamprads do collect a portion of IKEA sales profits through the franchising relationship between INGKA Holding and Inter IKEA Systems.

Kamprad retains little ownership in the company, having transferred his interest to Stichting INGKA Foundation and INGKA Holding as part of a complex tax sheltering scheme that leaves his actual degree of control vague.

The Dutch-registered Stichting INGKA Foundation is named after Ingvar Kamprad ( i. e. ING + KA ) who owns INGKA Holding, the parent company for all IKEA stores.

The INGKA Foundation is officially dedicated to promoting " innovations in architecture and interior design.

The Holding is a limited company, dedicated to the commercial exploitation of scientific knowledge.

Holding membership among Division 15 of the American Psychological Association and / or multiple divisions of the American Educational Research Association is common among educational psychologists.

Craving or attachment to desires, however, is not regarded here as the sole cause of suffering, but as only one among other causes which also lead to sufferings such as " Arrogance, Negligence, Refusing to believe, Hatred, Holding Grudges ".

While most IKEA stores operate under the direct purview of Ingka Holding and the Ingka Foundation, the IKEA trademark and concept is owned by an entirely separate Dutch company, Inter IKEA Systems.

Inter IKEA Systems is owned by Inter IKEA Holding, a company registered in Luxembourg.

Inter IKEA Holding, in turn, belongs to an identically named company in the former Netherlands Antilles that is run by a trust company based in Curaçao.

The company responsible for this liquidation traces back to the Interogo Foundation in Liechtenstein Ingvar Kamprad has confirmed that this foundation owns Inter IKEA Holding S. A. in Luxembourg and is controlled by the Kamprad family.

Holding, another Luxembourg-registered group that, according to The Economist, " is almost certain to be controlled by the Kamprad family.

In 2003, Island Air was sold to Gavarnie Holding and became an independent airline.

In December 2003, it was announced that Gavarnie Holding, LLC would purchase Aloha IslandAir from the Aloha AirGroup, making Island Air Hawaii's third largest independent airline.

During the reconstruction of 1990, all cigarettes manufacturing was gathered together in the new independent subsidiary company of House of Prince A / S and all Cigars manufacturing was gathered together in Nobel Cigars A / S – now ST Cigar Group Holding B. V.

Altogether, six wholesale generation companies ( WGC ), 14 territorial generation companies ( TGC ), RusHydro, FGC UES ( Federal Grid Company ), SO-CDA ( System Operator ), IDC Holding, RAO ES of the East, and Inter RAO UES continue to operate as independent entities.

Effective January 1, 1984, AT & T's local operations were split into seven independent Regional Holding Companies, also known as Regional Bell Operating Companies ( RBOCs ), or " Baby Bells ".

LSG Sky Chefs is the brand name of LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG, which is the world's largest provider of airline catering ( although Gate Gourmet claims the title of world's largest " independent " provider ) and in-flight services.

Sheikh Maktoum is also presently the Chairman of the Dubai International Holding Company ( a private investment firm with extensive experience in natural resources, mining, traditional and renewable energy ), Al-Nasr Sports Club, and SHUAA Capital ( one of the leading independent full-service investment banks in the MENA region ).

Both companies are held by a third company, named SNCB Holding.

A joint venture agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi on November 28, 2007 between Tawazun Holding LLC, an investment company established by the Offset Program Bureau ( OPB ), Al Jaber Trading Establishment, part of Al Jaber Group, and Rheinmetall Munitions Systems, to set up the Al Burkan munition factory at the Zayed Military City in Abu Dhabi.

After many of Comptroller Saxon ’ s decisions granting national banks greater powers had been challenged, commercial banking firms had been able to expand their non-securities activities through the “ one bank holding company .” Because the Bank Holding Company Act only limited nonbanking activities of companies that owned two or more commercial banks, “ one bank holding companies ” could own interests in any type of company other than securities firms covered by Glass-Steagall Section 20.

That “ loophole ” in the Bank Holding Company Act was closed by a 1970 amendment to apply the Act to any company that owned a commercial bank.
