Imad and ad-Din
In 1132, the defeated army of the Lord of Mosul, Imad ad-Din Zengi, found their retreat blocked by the Tigris opposite the Tikrit fortress where Saladin's father, Najm ad-Din Ayyub was warden.
In 1139, Ayyub and his family moved to Mosul where Imad ad-Din Zengi acknowledged his debt and appointed Ayyub commander of his fortress in Baalbek.

Nur ad-Din ( February 1118 – 15 May 1174 ), also known as Nur ed-Din or Nur al-Din (, / ISO 233: / ), full name Nur ad-Din Abu al-Qasim Mahmud ibn Imad ad-Din Zangi, was a member of the Turkic Zengid dynasty which ruled the Syrian province of the Seljuk Empire.
Nur ad-Din was the second son of Imad ad-Din Zengi, the Turkic atabeg of Aleppo and Mosul, who was a devoted enemy of the crusader presence in Syria.
Imad ad-Din al-Isfahani ( d. 1201 ), a chronicler and advisor to Saladin, referred to the village as Ayn al-Bassa.
