The special status of Irish citizens in the UK comes from section 1 ( 3 ) of the Immigration Act 1971, the legislative basis for the Common Travel Area.

It was nullified by the Immigration Act of 1924, which legally banned all Asians from migrating to the United States.

Garda Síochána ( GNIB ) has a responsibility to provide an Immigration service to all arriving passengers into the airport.

Immigration from Europe and the United States is at an all time high.
