He invited Jesuits to Olomouc and a year after his death, in 1573, his plan of promotion of the Olomouc school to Jesuit Academy was realized and the second oldest university in the Czech lands was established.

During the 1573 Polish election, Albert Frederick attempted to gain acceptance to the Polish senate but was opposed by the powerful Jan Zamoyski ( later Grand Hetman of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland ) who feared the influence of Protestants in the Polish legislative body.

The Warsaw Confederation of 1573 was a private compact signed by representatives of all the major religions in Polish and Lithuanian society, in which they pledged each other mutual support and tolerance.

Pacta conventa ( Latin for " articles of agreement ") was a contractual agreement, from 1573 to 1764 entered into between the " Polish nation " ( i. e., the szlachta ( nobility ) of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth ) and a newly-elected king upon his " free election " ( wolna elekcja ) to the throne.

The confederations, as a right of revolution, were recognized in Polish law through the Henrician articles ( 1573 ), part of the pacta conventa sworn by every Polish king since 1576.

The fields of Grochów and nearby Kamion saw the election of Henryk Walezy ( in 1573 ) and August III Sas ( in 1733 ) as Polish kings, since these fields were chosen as the seat of the Polish election Sejms.

However, starting from 1573, practically any Polish noble or foreigner of royal blood could become a Polish-Lithuanian monarch.

King Henry's Articles, signed by each king since 1573, required the king to call a general sejm ( lasting six weeks ) every two years, and provisions for an extraordinary sejm ( Polish: sejm ekstraordynaryjny, nadzwyczajny ) that was to last two weeks were also set down in this act.

During the interregnum in 1573 he was a proposed candidate of the so-called " Piast party " in the election for the Polish throne.

The very possibility that such an idea could have been seriously considered by the Polish side early on was likely based on the spirit of the 1573 Warsaw Confederation ( Warsaw Compact ), that guaranteed, at least formally, an equality for non-Catholic nobles in the Commonwealth.
