The text of the cantata is drawn from Georg Christian Lehms ' Gottgefälliges Kirchen-Opffer ( 1711 ) and speaks of the desire to lead a virtuous life and so enter heaven and avoid hell.

He ran the service until 14 March 1685, when he handed it over to Count Christian Gyldenløve, a nine-year-old son of King Christian V. The Gyldenløve family continued in control until 1711 ; in 1694 new routes and rates were established.

Barbara of Portugal ( Maria Madalena Bárbara Xavier Leonor Teresa Antónia Josefa ; 4 December 1711 – 27 August 1758 ) was an Infanta of Portugal and later Queen of Spain as wife of Ferdinand VI of Spain.
