When eventually Bernard's identity is revealed after a verbal misstep by Chloe, Hannah initially reacts angrily but regardless she agrees to share the research material he requested, allowing him to propose his theory that one of the 1809 inhabitants, Mr. Ezra Chater, was killed in a duel by Lord Byron.

Idylls of the King, published between 1856 and 1885, is a cycle of twelve narrative poems by the English poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson ( 1809 – 1892 ; Poet Laureate from 1850 ) which retells the legend of King Arthur, his knights, his love for Guinevere and her tragic betrayal of him, and the rise and fall of Arthur's kingdom.

It is also the first figurative memorial to Lord Nelson to be erected in Great Britain ( only second in the world after Montreal ) and was unveiled on 25 October 1809, as part of King George III's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The legendary history of this Buddha image is traced to India, five centuries after the Lord Buddha attained Nirvana, till it was finally enshrined in Bangkok at the Wat Phra Kaew temple in 1782 during Rama I's reign ( 1782 – 1809 ).

" Ulysses " is a poem in blank verse by the Victorian poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson ( 1809 – 1892 ), written in 1833 and published in 1842 in his well-received second volume of poetry.

This would be a preoccupation for many years and was certainly not resolved when Byron left for his Mediterranean travels in 1809.

* Washington Irving, author, lived in the village for about eight weeks in 1809 after the death of his fiancée ; wrote portions of A History of New-York from the Beginning of the World to the End of the Dutch Dynasty in Kinderhook.

New York culture bloomed in the first half of the 19th century: in 1809 Washington Irving wrote the satirical A History of New York under the pen name Diedrich Knickerbocker, and in 1819 he based Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in Hudson Valley towns ; Thomas Cole's Hudson River School established itself in the 1830s by showcasing dramatic landscapes of the Hudson Valley.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson ( 1809 – 1892 ) lived at Beech Hill House, High Beach 1837 – 1840 where he wrote parts of his magnum opus " In Memoriam ".

In 1809 Landor wrote " Three letters to Don Francisco Riquelme " giving him the benefit of his wisdom as a participant in the war.

Near the birth of her youngest child Princess Louise in 1809, Louise wrote to her father, " Gladly ... the calamities which have befallen us have not forced their way into our wedded and home life, rather have strengthened the same, and made it even more precious to us.

Pierre-Joseph Proudhon ( 1809 – 1865 ) and Peter Kropotkin ( 1842 – 1921 ) wrote about anarchist forms of socialism in their books.

In 1785 she bought a house, at Cowslip Green, near Wrington, in northern Somerset, where she settled down to country life with her sister Martha, and wrote many ethical books and tracts: Structures on the Modern System of Female Education ( 1799 ), Hints towards Forming the Character of a Young Princess ( 1805 ), Coelebs in Search of a Wife ( only nominally a story, 1809 ), Practical Piety ( 1811 ), Christian Morals ( 1813 ), Character of St Paul ( 1815 ), Moral Sketches ( 1819 ).

In 1807 – 1809, Grillparzer wrote a long tragedy in iambics, Blanca von Castilien, modeled on Friedrich von Schiller's Don Carlos.

From 1809 to 1811 he wrote for Ackermann's Political Magazine the famous Tour of Dr Syntax in search of the Picturesque ( descriptive and moralizing verse of a somewhat doggerel type ), which, owing greatly to Thomas Rowlandson's designs, was an immense success.

* John Sheehan ( 1809 – 1882 ), a radical journalist who wrote under the pseudonym of “ the Irish WhiskyDrinker ’ grew up in Celbridge, the son of Thomas Sheehan, a grazier, and Alicia Dunn.

" An Italian historian wrote in 1809 that " he assailants massacred as well those who surrendered as those who resisted.

Adam Gottlob Oehlenschläger wrote a tragedy called Palnatoke in 1809.

Nikolai Frederik Severin Grundtvig wrote a tale called Palnatoke in 1804 and in 1809 – 11 a two-volume work of poetic drama, Optrin af Kæmpelivets Undergang i Nord (" Episode of the Downfall of the Fighting Life in the North "), which deals with Palnatoki and Sigurð and was intended as part of a massive poetic work projected to consist of dramatised historic episodes and retellings of sagas spanning a thousand years from the coming of Odin and " Asatru " to Scandinavia through the legends of the Völsungs and Nibelungs until the fall of the Jomsborg with Palnetoki's death, and the victory of Christianity.

He also wrote some prose, the best known example of which is the 1809 short story " Marina roshcha " (" Mary's grove "), about the ancient past of Moscow ; it was inspired by Nikolay Karamzin's famous story " Bednaya Liza " (" Poor Liza ," 1792 ).

He wrote several legal tracts, six plays, a musical drama, two long poems, a semifictional travel narrative, The Yankey in London ( 1809 ), and essays.

Beside his works on Plato, he wrote, on aesthetics, System der Kunstlehre ( 1805 ) and Grundriss der Aesthetik ( 1807 ); on the history of philosophy, Grundlinien der Philosophie ( 1807, republished 1809, but soon forgotten ), Grundriss einer Geschichte der Philosophie ( 1807 and 1825 ), and Hauptmomente der Geschichte der Philosophie ( 1829 ); in philology, Grundlinien der Philologie ( 1808 ), and Grundlinien der Grammatik, Hermeneutik und Kritik ( 1808 ).
