An 1835 book inspired by Selkirk's life

Originally published in 1835 as Doctrine and Covenants of the Church of the Latter Day Saints: Carefully Selected from the Revelations of God, editions of the book continue to be printed mainly by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ( LDS Church ) and the Community of Christ ( formerly the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ( RLDS Church )).

The book was first introduced to the church body in a general conference on August 17, 1835.

The words Walloon and Wallons can be seen in the book of Charles White, The Belgic revolution ( 1835 ): " The restless Wallons, with that adventurous daring which is their historical characteristic, abandoned their occupations, and eagerly seizing the pike and the musket marched towards the center of the commotion .".

Jones is located just south of the place that Washington Irving described as " The Ringing of Horses " in the book A Tour on the Prairies ( 1835 )

Hermann Samuel Reimarus ( 1694 – 1768 ) started the historical Jesus project and David Friedrich Strauss established it as part of biblical criticism with his book Life of Jesus Critically Examined ( 1835 ).

Princeton Theological Seminary Professor Albert Baldwin Dod reviewed Finney's 1835 book Lectures on Revivals of Religion and rejected it as theologically unsound.

The most important ones are: Littérature du midi de l ' Europe ( 1813 ), a historical novel entitled Julia Severa ou l ' an 492 ( 1822 ), Histoire de la renaissance de la liberté en Italie ( 1832 ), Histoire de la chute de l ' Empire romain ( 1835 ), Précis de l ' histoire des Français, an abridgment of his own book ( 1839 ), and several others, mainly political pamphlets.

In 1633, Galileo was convicted of " grave suspicion of heresy " based on the book, which was then placed on the Index of Forbidden Books, from which it was not removed until 1835 ( after the theories it discussed had been permitted in print in 1822.
