Sir Frank Watson Dyson, KBE, FRS ( 8 January 1868 – 25 May 1939 ) was an English astronomer and Astronomer Royal who is remembered today largely for introducing time signals (" pips ") from Greenwich, England, and for the role he played in testing Einstein's theory of general relativity.

Among many other notable matches he played with Anderssen, he defeated him in 1866, lost in 1868 by a score of eight wins, three losses, one draw, and finally defeated him convincingly ( 5 – 2 ; no draws ) in a match in 1871.

Estevan Enrique " Steve " Bellán (; October 1, 1849 – August 8, 1932 ), also known as Esteban, was a Cuban professional baseball player who played as a third baseman for six seasons in the United States ( USA ), three in the National Association of Base Ball Players ( NABBP ) from 1868 to, and three in the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players ( NAPBBP ) from to.

After graduating in 1868, at age 18, Bellán played one season for the Union of Morrisania, a member of the NABBP, and was part of their national championship team in 1868.

In his 1859 The Origin of Species, Charles Darwin recalls seeing coloured drawings of zebra-donkey hybrids, and mentions " Lord Moreton's famous hybrid from a chesnut mare and male quagga ..." Charles Rennie Mackintosh was born at 70 Parson Street, Glasgow on 7 June 1868, the fourth of twelve children and second son of William and Margaret McIntosh.
