TDMA is used in the digital 2G cellular systems such as Global System for Mobile Communications ( GSM ), IS-136, Personal Digital Cellular ( PDC ) and iDEN, and in the Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications ( DECT ) standard for portable phones.

Most 2G cellular systems, with the notable exception of IS-95, are based on TDMA.

The vast majority of ALE systems in use in the world at the present time are 2G ALE.

The Eagle Talon saw its production end in 1998 when Chrysler shut down the Eagle sub-brand, although the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring continued to be sold in variations that used the 420A engine and many of the 2G Eclipse / Talon interior components.
