First Turkish encyclopedia was Kamus-ül-Ulûm ve ’ l-Maarif written by Ali Suvai in 1870 after that Ahmet Rifat Efendi's 7 volumes work " Lûgaat-i Tarihiye ve Coğrafiye " ( Dictionary of History and Geography ) published in Istanbul at 1881.

Sources for this period in Kentish history include The Ecclesiastical History of the English People, written in 731 by Bede, a Northumbrian monk.

The first North American novel, The History of Emily Montague ( 1769 ) by Frances Brooke was written in epistolary form.

Evidence of a written account in Occitan from Pamplona revolving around the burning of borough San Nicolas has reached up to our days ( 1258 ), while the History of the War of Navarre by Guilhem Anelier ( 1276 ) albeit written in Pamplona shows a linguistic variant from Toulouse.

The translation into English of Natural History written by the elder Pliny of Greece shows a few sentences on the subject of a volcanic glass called Obsian, so named from its resemblance to a stone found in Ethiopia by Obsius ( obsiānus lapis ).
