In the alternate reality of JLA: The Nail ( where Superman was discovered by a different family after the Kents had a nail in their car tire on the day they would have recovered him ), the Guardians recalled the entire Green Lantern Corps minus Hal Jordan ( who was trapped on Earth by a Kryptonian force field ) to intervene when the cold war between Apokolips and New Genesis escalated.

Several alternate universe versions of the character exist: the Silver Age Bizarro appears in Justice as a member of the Legion of Doom ; one-shot The Superman Monster ( 1999 ), essentially a Frankenstein pastiche features a monstrous copy of Bizarro created by a Viktor Luthor ; one-shot Superman: Red Son ( 2004 ) features a " Superman 2 " created by genius Lex Luthor for the United States to stop the Soviet-based Superman ; and Lex Luthor creates Bizarro-like duplicates called " Liberators " in the limited series JLA: The Nail ( 1998 ).

Kennedy ).

* JLA: The Nail, which theorizes a world without Superman, in which the Justice League of America has still been formed, but chaos reigns without a proper champion of the world's ideals.

Firestorm has appeared in various alternate realities within the DC Multiverse: a gender-reversed version appears in Countdown: The Search for Ray Palmer as an inhabitant of Earth-11 ; a version of the Ronnie Reymond Firestorm appeared in JLA: The Nail ; a Firestork in Just ' a Lotta Animals ; a Firestorm of a Justice League 100 years in the future, where Maxwell Lord has plunged humanity into a massive Metahuman war appeared in Justice League: Generation Lost ; and a merger of Ronnie Raymond and Nathaniel Adam of Earth-37 called Quantum-Storm was summoned by Monarch in the mini-series Countdown: Arena.

* In the Elseworlds JLA: Another Nail limited series, the Flash and Atom accidentally teleport to an alternate Earth.

In JLA: Another Nail, the H-Dial made a brief appearance when all time periods meld together.

Highfather appears in JLA: The Nail, involved in a war between New Genesis and Apokolips, triggered when Apokolips assumed that a Kryptonian shield around Earth was part of a sneak attack by New Genesis and decided that the only way to prevent their destruction was to attack first.

In JLA: Another Nail, a movie poster of Kamandi is seen as " Karl " and Lois exit the Smallville movie theater.

* Adam Strange made a brief appearance in Elseworlds ' JLA: Another Nail when all time periods meld together.

In the original series JLA: The Nail, he is found dead in Earth orbit by Hal Jordan after the Zeta Beam taking him to Rann was blocked by a force field surrounding Earth.

The Challengers also made brief appearances in JLA: Another Nail ( when all time periods meld together ) and Adventures of Superman Annual # 7 ( as part of a strikeforce of non-powered heroes ).

The limited series JLA: The Nail reveals, in flashback, that Amazo attacked and crippled Green Arrow during a battle with the JLA ( He is also recorded as having killed Hawkman, but this is never explicitly shown ).

In the sequel, JLA: Another Nail, the brain of the crippled Green Arrow is transferred into Amazo, who sacrifices himself to save the universe.

In JLA: Another Nail, Wally West ( as Kid Flash ) makes a brief appearance when all time periods meld together.

In the 1998 Elseworlds JLA: The Nail, Lightray is depicted fighting in a war between New Genesis and Apokolips.

In JLA: Another Nail, " Karl " and Lois went to see an Angel and the Ape film.

The Shining Knight and Victory made a brief appearance in Elseworlds ' JLA: Another Nail when all time periods meld together.

He is a popular after dinner speaker and awards host for the JLA agency where he " often appears in the guise of a close relative of Brittas.

Disheartened, the Tornado Champion lured the Tyrant to Earth-One, where the Tyrant was defeated by the real JLA.

Morrow then traveled to Earth-One, where he defeated the JLA as he had the JSA before them.

Later, Red Tornado is later shown aiding the JLA during their mission into Hell, where he helps Superman defeat the demon Minos.

The character has been depicted in various out-of-continuity stories, such as the JLA: Earth 2 one-shot, where he is an organic — but still villainous — lifeform, having tricked the Justice League of America and the Crime Syndicate of Amerika into switching worlds so that they are each trapped in realities where they cannot win, only to be defeated when the League deliberately walk away so that the Syndicate can return in time to stop him.

Brainiac also appears in The Dark Knight Strikes Again where he is allied with Lex Luthor and blackmailing various superheroes to obey them before he is destroyed by the daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman and the population of Kandor, as well as Superman: Red Son, JLA: Shogun of Steel, and The Last Days of Krypton novel by author Kevin J. Anderson.

* In JLA / Avengers # 4 Doomsday is shown in a panel near the end of the heroe's battle against Krona's enthralled army of villains, where he is apparently defeated by Thor.

Later, Lobo is shown aiding the JLA during their mission into Hell, where he helps Fire defeat the god Plutus.

He thereafter spent many years traveling through space as a wanderer, returning to earth on only two occasions: the War of the Gods crossover event, and again in the JLA spin-off, Extreme Justice # 5, where Stein cured Raymond of his leukemia and allowed Raymond to retain the original Firestorm persona on his own.

Following this defeat, the JLA freed the captured Justice Society heroes and imprisoned the CSA in an unbreakable bubble generated by Green Lantern's power ring that was placed in a " limbo " dimension between the Earths where time has no meaning.

With the Void Hound defeated and the CSA owing the JLA a favor for saving them, the villains are sent back to the anti-matter universe where they discover to their horror that the Qwardians have also invaded their Earth, dismantling their entire criminal organization and freeing many imprisoned super-heroes and rival super-villains.

Thundra appeared in JLA / Avengers in the prologue where she is seen on Polemachus in bed with Arkon.

While most of the JLA and JSA travelled through time to find the members, the Golden Age Green Lantern, Mister Terrific and the Golden Age Robin went on a quest to discover the identity of the Unknown Soldier of Victory, whose tomb lay in the mountains of Tibet, where the Seven Soldiers had fallen after defeating the Nebula Man.

Roval piloted the Void Hound through an ancient Qwa-portal into the positive matter universe, where he did battle against the Justice League in search of the ancient scientist Krona, who had nearly obliterated Qward during the JLA / Avengers crossover event.

During the JLA / Avengers miniseries, where he wielded the power of all the universes he had previously destroyed, Krona proved able to easily defeat both the Grandmaster and Galactus, although the Grandmaster's power was sufficient to make him initially hesitant at the prospect of fighting the other being until his attempt to beat the Grandmaster in a game to gain the information he sought failed.

During the celebration of the 100th meeting of the JLA, the team was summoned to Earth-Two by the Justice Society of America, where a giant ethereal hand controlled by the Iron Hand threatened to destroy their world unless he was given control over it, the villain had not died but he had to replace his hand.

After berating Batman and informing him that Kimiyo is unharmed, Rocket accompanies the Shadow Cabinet Agents and JLA members to the Justice League Satellite, where they aid Icon, Hawkman, and the rest of the Shadow Cabinet and JLA members in a battle with the Shadow Thief.

Black Manta appears in JLA / Avengers # 4 where he is shown trapped by Plastic Man.

The Earth-1 Vigilante's contact with the League was limited to a two-part story where he aided the JLA against aliens determined to over-pollute the Earth.

Earth-1's Vigilante was shown for the first time in the pages ( and cover ) of the JLA issue where the superteam moved to their classic headquarters on an orbiting satellite ( Justice League of America volume 1 # 78 ).
