Doud Dwight " Icky " Eisenhower was born September 24, 1917, and died of scarlet fever on January 2, 1921, at the age of three ; Eisenhower was mostly reticent to discuss his death.

There were 149 Civil-White Guards in Finland ( local units in towns and rural communes ) on 31 August 1917, 251 on 30 September, 315 on 31 October, 380 on 30 November 1917 and 408 on 26 January 1918.

The first attempt at serious military training among the Civil Guards was the establishment of a 200-strong " cavalry school " at Saksanniemi estate, in the vicinity of the town of Porvoo, east of Helsinki, on 19 September 1917.

There were approximately 20-60 Worker's Guards in Finland between 31 August and 30 September 1917, but after the defeat in the October Parliamentary elections the number of the Guards began to substantially increase.

Jacob Lawrence ( September 7, 1917 – June 9, 2000 ) was an American painter ; he was married to fellow artist Gwendolyn Knight.

He is today best remembered for the Kornilov Affair, an unsuccessful endeavor in August / September 1917 that purported to strengthen Alexander Kerensky's Provisional Government, but which led to Kerensky eventually having Kornilov arrested and charged with attempting a coup d ' état.

In September 1917, U. S. Department of Justice agents made simultaneous raids on forty-eight IWW meeting halls across the country.

Frederick the Peaceful KG ( September 21, 1415 – August 19, 1493 ) was Duke of Austria as Frederick V from 1424, the successor of Albert II as German King as Frederick IV from 1440, and Holy Roman Emperor as Frederick III from 1452.
