" A Night In Sickbay " is the title of the 31st episode ( production # 205 ) of the science fiction television series Star Trek: Enterprise which originally aired on October 16, 2002 in the United States.

Although he had previously been confined to Sickbay or the Holodeck, the mobile emitter allowed the Doctor to move about freely, making him ideal for missions where the environment would be harmful or otherwise fatal to the crew.
When the culprit arrives in Sickbay to finish off the assassins, Kirk and Spock discover that the killer is Spock's protégé, Valeris.

The story involves Dr. Phlox, whom Captain Archer orders to grow a mimetic symbiote as the source of a transplant for Chief Engineer Tucker when an injury threatens Tucker's life.
Following her near emotional collapse ( seen in the preceding episode ), a tense meeting with Archer in which she screams at him, and a foolhardy attempt to access a sealed off part of the ship in which the Trellium is stored ( an act that nearly costs her her life ), she decides to report her condition to Dr. Phlox.
She protests and persuades Phlox to let her go, but before she leaves, she asks whether he plans to report her condition to Archer.
When the ISS Enterprise is destroyed by the Tholians, Phlox and other survivors transfer to the USS Defiant, which has been commandeered by Commander Jonathan Archer.
Phlox and Enterprise crewmen devise a plan in which Archer will be subjected to repeated radiation treatments which will eliminate all of the parasites in his brain ; therefore, since Archer will never have been infected, he would have remained captain and possibly prevented Earth's destruction.
Phlox, T ' Pol, and Archer set the ship to create a subspace implosion.
Before he can, Phlox presents Archer and Sato to him — mostly restored.
Phlox continues treating Archer, Reed and Sato as they continue undergoing physiological changes while returning to normal.
Through it all, Archer struggles to reach an emotional understanding with Phlox and T ' Pol, as the two alien senior-crew members have little grasp of the human-pet relationship, and Phlox keeps offering Archer unsolicited advice about dealing with his apparent feelings for T ' Pol.
