* Isaac of Nineveh ( d 700 ) Nestorian Christian theologian

The writings of Christian ascetic Isaac of Nineveh ( d. 700 ), reflect several perspectives which include mortalism.

He is to be distinguished from Isaac of Nineveh, a Nestorian writer on the ascetic life who belongs to the second half of the 7th century.

The date of Isaac of Nineveh is now known from the Liber fundatorum of Ish-dlnah, an 8th-century writer ; see Bedjan's edition, and Chabot, Livre de la chastete, p. 63.

The next two centuries, which are in many ways a continuation of the golden age, sees important Syriac poets and theologians: Jacob of Serugh, Narsai, Philoxenus of Mabbog, Babai the Great, Isaac of Nineveh and Jacob of Edessa.

However, the question of whether Miaphysitism — the actual christology of the Oriental Orthodox Churches ( including the Coptic Orthodox Church )— was a heresy is a question which remains to this day, and other Oriental saints such as Isaac of Nineveh continue to be venerated by the Chalcedonian churches.

The young Alexios IV was strangled in prison, while his father Isaac died shortly afterwards, his death variously attributed to fright, sorrow, or foul play.

At the age of 75, Isaac moved to Beer-lahai-roi after his father died.

After 20 years working for Laban, Jacob returned home, and reconciled with his twin brother Esau, then he and Esau buried their father when Isaac died at the age of 180.

According to a version of these interpretations, Isaac died in the sacrifice and was revived.

After Jacob died there 17 years later, Joseph carried Jacob's remains to the land of Canaan, where he gave them stately burial in the same Cave of Machpelah as were buried Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah and Jacob's wife, Leah ().

( Genesis 27: 41 KJV ) He vowed to kill Jacob as soon as Isaac died.

When Isaac died at the age of 180, Jacob and Esau buried him in the Cave of the Patriarchs, which Abraham had purchased as a family burial plot.

When Rabbi Yaakov died in 1064, Rashi continued learning in Worms for another year in the yeshiva of his relative, Rabbi Isaac ben Eliezer Halevi, who was also chief rabbi of Worms.

Isaac Jaggard had died in 1627, and Edward Blount had transferred his rights to stationer Robert Allot in 1630.

The most recent memorial was installed in 1958 to commemorate Isaac Pitman, the developer of Pitman shorthand, who died in 1897.

At the end of January, 1204, the influential court official Alexios Doukas Mourtzouphlos took advantage of riots in the capital to imprison Alexios IV and seize the throne as Emperor Alexios V. At this point Isaac II died, allegedly of shock, while Alexios IV was strangled on 28 or 29 January.

John Doukas Vatatzes was probably the son of the general Basileios Vatatzes, Duke of Thrace, who died in 1193, and his wife, an unnamed daughter of Isaakios Angelos and cousin of the Emperors Isaac II Angelos and Alexios III Angelos.

Isaac was 180 years old when he died, and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

Moreover, when Lorenzo died in April 1492 Isaac composed two motets in his memory.

Isaac died on 26 March 1517.

Griffin died in 1845 and was buried on the banks of Wolff Creek ( Tipsword family cemetery, Effingham, IL ), leaving three sons, John, Isaac and Thomas, who have left many descendants in the Altamont area today.

Isaac Zane died in 1816, and was buried near Zanesfield.

He was the second son and the seventh of ten children of Isaac Juda Offenbach né Eberst ( 1779 – 1850 ) and his wife Marianne, née Rindskopf ( c. 1783 – 1840 ).

Isaac I Komnenos ( or Comnenus ) (, Isaakios I Komnēnos ) ( c. 1007 – 1061 ) was Byzantine Emperor from 1057 to 1059, and the first reigning member of the Komnenos dynasty.
