Route 21 intersects many major roads including Interstate 78, Route 27, and Interstate 280 in Newark, Route 7 in Belleville, and Route 3 in Clifton.

The route is a four-lane divided highway between its southern terminus and the north end of the Route 33 concurrency in Howell Township ; along this stretch, the route intersects the Garden State Parkway and Interstate 195 / Route 138 within a short distance of each other.

Immediately past this interchange, the road intersects County Route 30 before coming to a cloverleaf interchange with Interstate 195 and Route 138.

From there, Route 35 heads north and intersects Route 138, an extension of Interstate 195, continuing north through Monmouth County before crossing the Victory Bridge over the Raritan River into Perth Amboy, where the route continues north to Rahway.

It then enters Mount Laurel Township, where it intersects Interstate 295 before passing over the New Jersey Turnpike.

I ‑ 20 intersects with seven of the 10 primary north – south interstates ( all except I ‑ 5, I ‑ 15 and I ‑ 25 ) and also with the major Interstate routes I ‑ 10, and I ‑ 30.

The route passes through Van Buren, where it intersects the southbound Interstate 540 / US 71 to Fort Smith.

The route intersects many highways, including U. S. Route 40 in Woodstown, Route 77 and U. S. Route 322 in Mullica Hill, and Interstate 295 in West Deptford Township.

It is a two-lane, undivided road through its entire length that intersects with Interstate 295 and County Route 551.

Due to frequent accidents on Interstate 70, five miles ( 8 km ) to the south of the town and often under construction, police often re-route traffic through Brazil, which creates traffic problems on U. S. 40 and the north-south Indiana Highway 59 ( Forest Avenue, which intersects U. S. 40 ).

* ends in nearby Hurley, Wisconsin and continues to Wausau, Wisconsin ; where it intersects with Interstate 39.

* Imlay City intersects 2 major Michigan highways, Interstate 69 and M-53 ( also known as Van Dyke ).

Interstate 76 intersects Interstate 80 near the village.

Route 125 intersects with Interstate 495 in Massachusetts two miles south of Plaistow.

Las Cruces is the southern terminus for Interstate 25 where it intersects Interstate 10.

New York State Route 60, the principle north south route through the County, runs through the village and intersects with US Route 20, to the north at Fredonia, the New York State Thruway ( aka Interstate 90 ) 8. 5 miles to the north at Dunkirk, and Interstate 86, to the south at Jamestown.

I-481 intersects Interstate 690 in the eastern part of the town and Interstate 90 ( New York State Thruway ) in the northern part of the town.

Interstate 81 passes through the east side of the community and intersects the New York State Thruway ( Interstate 90 ) north of Galeville.

Here, the route intersects County Route 679 near the Salem County Veterans Cemetery before heading through more agricultural areas.

At the intersection with Veterans Drive and Conover Street, Route 413 splits into a divided highway, and the highway intersects with West Broad Street.

At 107th Street Broadway intersects with West End Avenue to form Straus Park with its Titanic Memorial by Augustus Lukeman.

In Rensselaer County it widens again as it intersects I-90 and then joins US 20 to Albany, where it crosses the Hudson at the Dunn Memorial Bridge.

New York State Route 431, an east-west highway known as Whiteface Mountain Memorial Highway, intersects New York State Route 86, a north-south highway in Wilmington village.

The road becomes a freeway as it intersects with I-5 before entering San Clemente Canyon, designated as Marian Bear Memorial Natural Park.

Past the Somerville Circle, Route 28 becomes a road named West End Avenue that intersects County Route 644 ( Frelinghuysen Avenue ) just before entering Somerville.

Past this interchange, the road continues northwest and intersects the northern terminus of County Route 3, where it also features ramps to County Route 516, which Route 35 passes under just to the north.

It then narrows to a four-lane divided strip which lasts until it intersects St. Andrews Rd, just north of the Hyde Park / Poughkeepsie town line where it returns to two-lane status as it goes through Hyde Park and past its historic sites.

Blount County Road 15 intersects Alabama 79 just north of Locust Fork and provides a connection to the county seat located at Oneonta.

It is located on U. S. Highway 31, just to the north of where it intersects with U. S. Highway 6.

New York State Route 31 ( east-west ) intersects New York State Route 88 in Newark just south of the Erie Canal.

Bloodgood Creek, an entirely spring-fed year-round water source, runs through the northwest part of town and intersects with the Little Klickitat just west of the city.

US 80 intersects I-20 again just east of here.

It begins just west of the Harbor Freeway at the intersection with Vermont Avenue in the eastern edge of the city of Gardena, proceeding eastward approximately six miles ( 10 km ) until it intersects the Long Beach Freeway.

US 60 intersects Interstate 55 and Interstate 57 just southeast of Sikeston, and runs concurrently with I-57 from this junction to the east side of Charleston.

In Clarks Summit, just north of Scranton, US 11 intersects U. S. Route 6.

The Tropic of Capricorn intersects the Gregory Highway just north of Emerald.

It intersects with a barrier toll just east of the GreeneWay, and has interchanges with International Corporate Park Boulevard, Dallas Boulevard, followed by one more barrier toll.

The Regicides Trail has a connection to the Woodbridge trail system via the red-blazed North Summit Trail, which intersects the Regicides, just west of Baldwin Drive near a U-shaped overlook.

The next section that opened was in 1968 from the present-day exit 2 with PA 18 and where PA 18 intersects with the present-day PA 760 just north of I-80 and the western terminus of I-376.

Southeast of Benton, U. S. 33 intersects State Road 13 before joining with US 6 to become an east – west rural highway running for a few miles between just north of Lake Wawasee near Syracuse to Ligonier at the intersection of State Road 5, where US 33 splits from US 6 and turns south, joining SR 5 as a north – south road for a few miles before splitting off to the southeast toward Kimmell as it enters Noble County.

It intersects with Interstate 5 just northwest of Westfield Southcenter and continues eastward as Interstate 405.

It later intersects with I-74, and then I-57 just outside Rantoul about north of Champaign-Urbana.

It intersects OH 21 just before entering town, which it does on Wooster Avenue.

Further east the highway intersects Highway 172 which gives access to the Warren Prairie Natural Area just east of the Drew County line.

It is situated just north of junction 4 of the M4 motorway ( Heathrow Airport spur ), which intersects with the A408 ( for Stockley Business Park ), north for Uxbridge, and it terminates south at Heathrow Airport itself.

After Damascus, the highway intersects with OR 224, just east of Clackamas.

To the north, just below Queen Charlotte Island, it intersects the Queen Charlotte Fault and the Explorer Ridge.

To the south, just off of Cape Mendocino in California, it intersects the San Andreas Fault and the Mendocino fault zone at the Mendocino Triple Junction.

From here the road runs along the southern edge of Brookridge until it intersects Oak Avenue, just before it passes under a pedestrian / bicycle bridge west of the interchange Suncoast Parkway, and instantly intersects Hernando CR 570 ( Wiscon Road ), where the road curves to the northeast.
