In May 2010, Keith Giffen took over the Booster Gold title, linking it with the 26 week miniseries Justice League: Generation Lost, which saw Booster unite with his JLI teammates Fire, Ice, and Captain Atom to take down the resurrected Maxwell Lord.

Remarkably, in the wake of Black Canary's resignation and the abduction of several members, the short-handed JLI took them on.

The remnants of the JLI are, seemingly by chance, joined by the successors of Blue Beetle ( Jaime Reyes ) and Rocket Red.

Lord then pulls together several former JLI members, including L-Ron, Captain Atom, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold and Fire as the " Super Buddies ", advertised as " Heroes the common man could call.

At the end of the prologue special issue, he shoots and kills one-time JLI member, Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle, when the hero discovers Lord's secret and refuses his offer to join him.

When Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, having assembled their old JLI teammates, storm Brother Eye, Lord is killed by Dr. Light when she blasts a hole through his chest.

While possessing Maxwell Lord's body, Dreamslayer kidnaps and later murders Mitch Wacky on the island of Kooey Kooey Kooey, where the Blue Beetle and Booster Gold previously attempted to open a resort called " Club JLI ".

The Super Buddies do not and cannot get along: Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, formerly the self-proclaimed " Abbott and Costello " of the JLI, now find themselves constantly arguing and fruitlessly attempting to prove to one another that they've matured.

When Booster Gold's team member, Jaime, is kidnapped and tortured by Max, Jaime manages to send a signal to the rest of the JLI to lead them to Max's headquarters.

Booster Gold is enraged and his team tries to take down Max, but Max escapes from the JLI using one of his headquarters ' escape pods.

While the JLI are battling against the new OMAC known as OMAC Prime, Booster Gold locates Max's flying headquarters and attacks it to come face-to-face with Max.

In the post-Flashpoint continuity, Booster is portrayed with his original glory seeking personality, commercially marketing his image, and is chosen by the U. N. to lead the JLI due to his PR sense and naiveté.

When the team next encounter Lord, after mind-controlling first Fire and then Booster Gold to prevent them from stopping him, he teleports from the old JLI embassy back to Checkmate where he attempts to enlist Magog to kill Captain Atom.

Khan offers to trade G ' nort, another former JLI member, for possession of L-Ron, but when this offer is refused, and Booster accidentally knocks over several rows of Khan's sentries, Khan declares war on Earth.

While the JLI learn that Jaime is alive, Batman and Power Girl come to join the team.

The JLI arrives too late, and Jaime is shot in the head by Max with a gun blaster, killing him in the same manner as his predecessor, Ted Kord.

After their time with the JLI, the two left Earth for New Genesis.

Finally, however, while the possessed Lord forced the JLI to battle itself, the mortally wounded Silver Sorceress managed to contain Dreamslayer and held it within her mind as she died, taking it with her, and while Lord was freed, his power was burnt out.

Later, when the Creature Commandos attack the JLI embassy, Lord poses as a member and captures Jaime Reyes heading towards the teleporter with him, while the others are unable to stop him.

The 2005 80-page one-shot Countdown to Infinite Crisis reveals that Lord is no longer a cyborg and is apparently a criminal mastermind who spent years running the JLI while gathering sensitive information about the world's superheroes, whom he considered a threat to the planet.

Among the duo's more notable appearances include a stint as superhero repo men and the construction of a gaming resort, Club JLI, on the living island Kooey Kooey Kooey.

Their next mission involves breaking the bank at the Club JLI casino on the island of Kooey Kooey Kooey.

Around this time, Dawkins goes on a JLI goodwill tour to New Zealand.

Using Lord's body and power, he caused the JLI to lose its charter and almost forced them to disband.

The JSA had remained inactive for some time shortly after the events of Zero Hour, but the surviving members ( Flash, Wildcat, and Alan Scott, now going under the name Sentinel ) remained active throughout the DCU, having been placed as reserve JLI members, as evidenced in Justice League Europe # 50.

During a final battle between the remade JLI and the OMACs, the Time Stealers return and are defeated.

The JLI carries Jaime to the land surface, where paramedics try to resuscitate him.

Meanwhile, Max sends the OMACs to attack the JLI.

Max then teleports away to escape from the JLI.

In the 2010 storyline Justice League: Generation Lost, the former shady manager of the JLI, Maxwell Lord, is showing turning his already present mistrust for the metahuman community into full blown hatred after witnessing firsthand the fallout of the Death of Superman.

They help out the Justice League when JLI liaison Maxwell Lord lies in a coma, but again later reform as the Injustice League as henchmen of Sonar.

Attempting to go legit, the Injustice League were given a chance by Maxwell Lord, the then-chief of the JLI.
