With Reyes, Black Flag recorded the Jealous Again 12-inch EP and appeared in the film The Decline of Western Civilization.

Black Flag had made at least two aborted attempts to record a full-length album since the release of its first extended play Nervous Breakdown, with singers Keith Morris, Ron Reyes, and Dez Cadena ; some of the Reyes sessions became the Jealous Again EP, while selections from two of many Cadena sessions became the Six Pack EP and the " Louie Louie "/" Damaged I " single ; other session outtakes would later comprise the Everything Went Black double album.

Supported by singles " Hard to Handle ", " She Talks to Angels ", " Jealous Again ", " Twice As Hard ", " Sister Luck ", and " Seeing Things ", their debut album received multi-platinum certification and eventually sold over three million copies.

Four music videos for " Twice As Hard ", " Jealous Again ", " Hard To Handle " and " She Talks to Angels " were filmed to promote the band and the album, and subsequently aired on MTV.

A song from new album, called " Your Eyes Were Shining ", was uploaded onto The Jealous Sound SoundCloud website in June 2012.

The rumours of the band's demised were confounded when, according to a blog post on The Village Voice's website posted on October 14, 2008, The Jealous Sound broke up in 2005, and the songs on the Got Friends EP were " the last shreds of material recorded a new album before Shehan went crazy and more or less disappeared.

Two singles, " Here Comes the Sun " and " Jealous Little Thing " were released prior to the album.
