Kosiński appeared 12 times on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson during 1971 – 73, and The Dick Cavett Show in 1974, was a guest on the talk radio show of Long John Nebel, posed half-naked for a cover photograph by Annie Leibovitz for The New York Times Magazine in 1982, and presented the Oscar for screenwriting in 1982.

While being known for his dramatic roles, Finney appeared and sang in two musical films: Scrooge and the Hollywood film version of Annie, which was directed by John Huston, who would direct him once again in Under The Volcano two years later.

He married Rose Ellen Freer ( 1885 – 1958 ), daughter of Russell John Freer ( 1852 – 1932 ) and Annie Cecile Thornton ( 1863 – 1928 ), both of whom would later live with the Cicottes.

The work has been staged internationally, and has been adapted to film twice, in 1982 and in 1999 the better known being perhaps the former, directed by John Huston and starring Aileen Quinn as Annie, Albert Finney as Warbucks, Ann Reinking as his secretary Grace Farrell, and Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan.
