Albert Sidney Johnston ( February 2, 1803 – April 6, 1862 ) served as a general in three different armies: the Texas Army, the United States Army, and the Confederate States Army.

Johnston was assigned to posts in New York and Missouri and served in the Black Hawk War in 1832 as chief of staff to Bvt.

Johnston managed to convince a few volunteers to stay and fight as he himself served as the inspector general of volunteers and fought at the battles of Monterrey and Buena Vista.

The current governor general is David Lloyd Johnston, who has served since 1 October 2010 ; Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper recommended him to succeed Michaëlle Jean.

General Joseph E. Johnston, the Confederate officer who had commanded the resistance to Sherman's troops in Georgia and the Carolinas, served as a pallbearer in New York City.

During the American Civil War, Brewster served on the staffs of the two highest ranking Texans in the Confederate Army, General Albert S. Johnston and General John B.

Henry Simpson Johnston ( December 30, 1867 – January 7, 1965 ) was an American lawyer and politician who served as a delegate to the Oklahoma Constitutional Convention, the first President pro tempore of the Oklahoma Senate, and the seventh Governor of Oklahoma.

Johnston subsequently served as chairman of various Scottish organisations, including the Scottish National Forestry Commission ( 1945 – 48 ) and the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board ( 1946 – 59 ).

By the end of the war, Fleming had served under four generals: John Magruder, Joseph Johnston, John Bell Hood, and Robert E. Lee.

Hood was commissioned a brevet second lieutenant in the 4th U. S. Infantry, served in California, and later transferred to the 2nd U. S. Cavalry in Texas, where he was commanded by Col. Albert Sidney Johnston and Lt. Col. Robert E. Lee.

He served in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and married Florence Johnston in 1951.

* John Johnston ( October 2, 1829 – April 24, 1864 ), served in the Civil War but was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg and disabled.

Williams served as a member of the revolutionary convention in Johnston County in 1774 ; he then served in the North Carolina Provincial Congress and two terms in the Provincial Council.

Johnston is frequently cited as having served in the North Carolina Senate in 1779, but this is not confirmed by a careful perusal of the Senate Journals.

During the Principal Group affair, which he left primarily in the hands of Treasurer Dick Johnston and Consumer and Corporate Affairs Minister Elaine McCoy, a photographer captured a shot of Getty playing golf while his press secretary had said that he was " working out of the office ".
