Knockacarracoush is a small townland situated in north County Cork, Ireland, west of Kanturk and north of Millstreet.

Kanturk (-Boar's Head, also the town's emblem ) is a town in the north west of County Cork, Ireland.

A significant historical site close to the town is Kanturk Castle, a fortified house built in 1609.

The picturesque Kanturk Town Park is a short distance from its shopping centre, crossing the Kanturk Bridge and left into the O ' Brien Street, then entering the park at the Unity Stone monument, the park displays some fine oak, beech, chesnut and ash trees, incorporating a children's playground, some cultural exhibits, as well as a leisurely walk by the scenic banks of the Dalua.

The Kanturk rugby club is located just outside the town at Knocknacolan.

* Bus: Kanturk is served weekdays by four buses a day from Cork to Mallow, one of which continues to Cork.

Kanturk is unserved by bus on Sundays.

* Air: Kanturk is 51km from Kerry Airport.

The principal seat of the Lords of Duhallow was at Kanturk.

O ' Callaghan progressed to secondary school in Kanturk and at the age of fifteen he won a scholarship to the Patrician Academy in Mallow.

In recent years the club has undertaken major regeneration of its waters by installing a salmon pass in Kanturk Park and repairing the damage done in the previous decades aimed at flood prevention.

Hanna Sheehy was born in Kanturk, County Cork, Ireland, the eldest daughter of David Sheehy, an ex-Fenian and Irish Parliamentary Party Westminster MP, who was also the brother of Father Eugene Sheehy ( known as the " Land League priest ", whose activities landed him in prison ) a priest who educated Éamon de Valera in Limerick, and Elizabeth McCoy.

This Perceval descends from John Perceval, who on 9 September 1661 was created a Baronet, of Kanturk in the County of Cork, in the Baronetage of Ireland .< ref name = Gibson > Sir Philip Perceval ( 1605 – 1647 ) obtained grants of forfeited lands to the amount of 101, 000 statute acres.

) ( 1905 – 1995 ) was an Irish journalist, author, lawyer, Irish language activist and entrepreneur, born in Kanturk, County Cork, Ireland on 26 May 1905, the sixth child and fourth son of five sons and five daughters of Daniel Desmond ( D. D .) Sheehan BL, MP for Mid-Cork, of Kanturk, and Mary Pauline ( née O ' Connor ) from Tralee, County Kerry.

In March 1909 he inaugurated the All-for-Ireland League ( AFIL ) in Kanturk with James Gilhooly MP as Chairman and D. D. Sheehan Hon.
