The characters on Sam and Friends were forerunners of Muppets, and the show included a prototype of Henson's most famous character: Kermit the Frog.

Kermit was named after Kermit the Frog from The Muppets.

Scooter's uncle J. P. Grosse owns the theater, and rents it to the Muppets, as Scooter is only too happy to remind Kermit.
