The building of Killingworth Township was undertaken by Northumberland County Council, and was not sponsored by the Government.

Killingworth is often referred to as ' Killy ' by a large portion of residents of the town and residents of the surrounding areas.

The houses in most of the Garths in West Bailey ( the west of Killingworth ) were built of concrete and had flat roofs, but around 1995 the Local Housing Association modernised these houses by adding pitched roofs to the flat-roofed homes, renewed fencing, built new brick sheds, and relocated roads and pathways.

This follows naturally since frontage on an ocean, stream, or lake provides scenic values and opportunities for the very popular recreation activities of bathing, fishing, boating, and other water sports.

Pleasure boating is just scooting into its best months in California as crisp breezes bring out craft of every size on every kind of water -- ocean, lake and reservoir.

As well as re-creating the look of the castle it was hoped that a new mere would be part of the ongoing flood alleviation plan for the area and that the lake could be used for boating and other waterside recreations.

The traditional owners of the lake, the Arabuna, are seeking to restore the lake's traditional name, Kati Thanda, and to ban boating on the lake ( effectively closing The Lake Eyre Yacht Club ).

Accommodation ( hotels, self-catering cottages and camping sites ) as well as boating services are available at and near Kampi-Ya-Samaki on the western shore, as well as on several of the islands in the lake.

The Boat house established alongside the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists, is a major tourist attraction in Ooty.

Swimming and boating are allowed at the lake, and boat rentals are available.

The lake is used for boating, swimming, fishing, and waterskiing ; it is especially noted for its excellent bass fishing.

It is a main destination of tourism, as the lake provides great fishing, boating, and other water sports for visitors and those who live near and around the lake.

Fishing, boating, tubing, wake boarding, and water skiing are common activities on the lake.

The lake is also a major tourism draw for swimming, boating and personal watercraft, complemented by the Little Red River and Sugar Loaf Mountain along the eastern portion of the city.

This lake offers boating, fishing, jogging, biking, sailing, animal watching, and snow mobiling.

However, boating is often restricted due to disputes with both the homeowners on the lake and village of Lakewood, in which approximately 30 % of the lake lies.

A larger lake with over of water ( Salamonie Lake ) offers boating, fishing, and swimming – and is located within one hour ’ s driving time.

The main lake offers a number of recreational opportunities including: fishing, boating and water skiing.

Picnicking, boating, swimming and spending a leisurely day at the lake and park were enjoyable pastimes.

Although isolated and definitely northern, it was an attractive base for its pleasing North Woods location and its proximity to outdoor activities off the base, including hunting, fishing, boating, and winter sports including skiing at Marquette Mountain recreational area, as well as the venues on site ( base lake, ski hill, and others ).

Warmond is situated on a lake system called Kagerplassen and has several marinas which make it a popular recreational area for boating and other water sports.

There is no boating or swimming in the lake and fishing is only allowed in designated areas on the southwest side in order to protect the water quality as the lake serves as a water source for the Ramsey County area.
