Spot the Dog is a series of children's books by Eric Hill, which were later made into a popular children's animation series, known as Spot, for BBC television by David McKee's King Rollo Films.
The first season of the TV series went into production and was animated and produced by King Rollo Films sometime in 1986.
The Spot theme song was licensed from King Rollo Films, so the familiar tune by Duncan Lamont was heard on the opening and closing.
