The Koklass Pheasant is a medium sized elusive bird confined to high altitude forests from Afghanistan to central Nepal, and in northeastern Tibet to northern and eastern China.

Upper parts of male Koklass Pheasant are covered with silver-grey plumage streaked velvety-black down the centre of each feather, and it has the unique feature of a black head, chestnut breast and prominent white patches on the sides of neck.

One of the less colourful pheasants, the Koklass Pheasant exhibits moderate sexual dimorphism.

The Hoatzin ( Opisthocomus hoazin ), also known as the Hoactzin, Stinkbird, or Canje Pheasant, is a species of tropical bird found in swamps, riverine forest and mangrove of the Amazon and the Orinoco delta in South America.

There is a variety of night life: including clubs E11vens and Karma ( currently awaiting the outcome of an appeal against closure ), Jax Landing, a wine bar, and pubs including The Brunel, The Bridge House, The Pheasant Carvery, The Rose & Crown and Little George, although many people prefer to travel to nearby Bath, Swindon or Bristol.

The Golden Pheasant or " Chinese Pheasant ", ( Chrysolophus pictus ) is a gamebird of the order Galliformes ( gallinaceous birds ) and the family Phasianidae.

The female ( hen ) is much less showy, with a duller mottled brown plumage similar to that of the female Common Pheasant.

The Golden Pheasant is commonly found in zoos and aviaries, but often as impure specimens that have the similar Lady Amherst's Pheasant in their lineage.

Various other pheasant species are popular in aviaries, such as the Golden Pheasant ( Chrysolophus pictus ).

The tragopans ( Tragopan ), Mikado Pheasant ( Syrmaticus mikado ) and several species of grouse and ptarmigan are exceptional in their largely vegetarian and arboreal foraging habitats ; grouse are especially notable for being able to feed on plants rich in terpenes and quinones – such as sagebrush or conifers –, which are often avoided by other herbivores.

The species apparently have somewhat different ecological requirements and at least in its typical habitat, the Green Pheasant outcompetes the Common Pheasant.

Like these species, the White Eared Pheasant lacks a prominent trailing wing notch

This species is closely related to the Golden Pheasant and the introduced populations in England will interbreed.

She is very like the female Golden Pheasant, but has a darker head and cleaner underparts than the hen of that species.

The three subspecies on the Japanese islands are usually treated as a distinct species, the Green Pheasant ( P. versicolor ), but some consider the Japanese birds to be part of the Common Pheasant complex, making thirty-three subspecies in total.

Much of the terrain surrounding the river valley still remains in native grasslands, supporting many species of wildlife, including Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Coyote, Fox, Native Grouse, Pheasant, etc.

The Blood Pheasant ( Ithaginis cruentus ) is the only species in genus Ithaginis of the pheasant family.

The Cheer Pheasant, Catreus wallichii also known as Wallich's Pheasant is a vulnerable species of the pheasant family, Phasianidae.

The mountains are also home to the Takin ( a species of Ox ), Golden Pheasant, Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, Temminck's Tragopan, Crested Ibis, Golden Eagle, Blackthroat and Clouded Leopard.
