Lan Kwai Fong is a small square of streets in Central, Hong Kong.

Lan Kwai Fong as an area is defined by D ' Aguilar Street and the smaller lane, Lan Kwai Fong, an L-shaped, cobble-stoned lane.

Before the Second World War, Lan Kwai Fong was dedicated to hawkers.

In 1975, German-Canadian businessman Allan Zeman, also known as the father of Lan Kwai Fong, moved to Hong Kong.

He felt it needed a western style restaurant, so he opened “ California ” in 1983 in Lan Kwai Fong which became his claim to fame.

The square, together with a gay club " Disco Disco " founded earlier in 1978 in D ' Aguilar Street, made Lan Kwai Fong and its surroundings a famous spot for night life.

From 2011, a massive change was underway, following Zeman's decision to replace his block in Lan Kwai Fong.

This led to a substantial area of Lan Kwai Fong becoming a construction site, surely helping boost business in the booming bars just above, along Wyndham Street.

On 1 January 1993, 21 people were killed and 48 injured in a large-scale human stampede whilst celebrating the New Year's Day in Lan Kwai Fong.

Kwai Hing was originally named Kwai Chung.

The line is elevated between Lai King and Kwai Hing stations.

Between Kwai Fong and Kwai Hing stations, the tracks are covered up to minimise disturbance to residents nearby.

After Kwai Hing station, the line reenters the tunnel to Tai Wo Hau station, before finally reemerging to Tsuen Wan Terminus at ground level.

It is located between Lai King and Kwai Hing stations.

Kwai Hing station is an elevated railway station on the Tsuen Wan Line of Hong Kong MTR system.

The mainly residential area extends to Kwai Hing in the north, Lai King in the south, Tsing Yi Bridge to the west, and Tai Lin Pai Industrial Area to the east.

The bay was reclaimed in 1960s and became Kwai Fong and part of Kwai Hing.

The Lai Chi Kok Park is a large public area near the estate, stretching along the Kwai Chung Road motorway.
