He lived in the apartment of Giuditta Bellerio Sidoli, a beautiful Modenese widow who would become his lover, and organized a new political society called La giovine Italia ( Young Italy ).

The American musician and artist La Monte Young had been asked to guest-edit an issue of a literary journal, Beatitude East, and asked George Maciunas, a trained graphic designer, for help with the layout ; Maciunas supplied the paper, design, and some money for publishing of the anthology, which contained a more or less arbitrary association of New York avant-garde artists at that time.

After having fled Lithuania at the end of World War II, his family had moved to New York, where Maciunas first came into contact with a group of avant-garde artists and musicians centered around John Cage and La Monte Young.

The first three to be printed were Composition 1961 by La Monte Young see, An Anthology of Chance Operations edited by Young and Mac Low and Water Yam, by George Brecht.

Among its early associates were Joseph Beuys, Dick Higgins, Nam June Paik, Wolf Vostell, La Monte Young, Joseph Byrd, and Yoko Ono who explored media ranging from performance art to poetry to experimental music to film.

La Monte Thornton Young ( born October 14, 1935 ) is an American avant-garde composer, musician, and artist.

But her paternity was questioned, as rumour said the king was impotent and the queen, Joan of Portugal, had an amorous affair with a nobleman named Beltrán de La Cueva.

The birth of princess Joanna in 1462, openly called La Beltraneja, caused the separation of her parents.

Teach immediately renamed La Concorde as Queen Anne's Revenge and equipped her with 40 guns.

In Lope de Vega's miscellany La Circe-con otras rimas y prosas ( Madrid 1624 ), the story of her encounter with Ulysses appears as a verse epic in three cantos.

She was awarded a contract with the Royal Opera in London and made her début at Covent Garden as Marie in La Fille du régiment in 1876.

However, her contract was cancelled shortly thereafter when she refused to sing Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata on moral grounds.

At Gaumont, pioneer Alice Guy Blaché ( M. Gaumont's former secretary ) was made head of production and oversaw about 400 films, from her first, La Fée aux Choux, in 1896, through 1906.

His father, Achille La Guardia, was a lapsed-Catholic from Cerignola, and his mother, Irene Coen, was a Jew from Trieste, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire ; his maternal grandmother Fiorina Luzzatto Coen was a Luzzatto, a member of the prestigious Italian Jewish family of scholars, kabbalists and poets and had among her ancestors the famous rabbi Samuel David Luzzatto better known as Shadal.

A reference to La Malinche as " Marina " is made in the early 19th century Polish novel " The Manuscript Found at Saragossa ," in which she is cursed for yielding her " heart and her country to the hateful Cortez, chief of the sea-brigands.

She also introduced her friend Florence La Badie to D. W. Griffith, which launched La Badie's successful film acting career.
