Luófúshān is the site of many temples, including Wa Sau Toi where, c. 1900, a Chan ( Zen ) master named Daai Yuk taught Southern Dragon style to Lam Yiu Gwai, who in turn passed the art on to the many students of his schools in Guangzhou.

Lam Yiu Gwai 林耀桂 ( 1877-1966 ) was the master responsible for the dissemination of Dragon Kung Fu.

Good friends since their youth in Huizhou, Lam Yiu Gwai and the Bak Mei master Jeung Lai Chuen later became cousins by marriage and opened several schools together.

Lam Yiu Gwai married and had several children.

After a stroke in the early 1950s, Lam Yiu Gwai moved to Hong Kong for medical treatment where, after another stroke in 1965, he died in 1966.

After the Yuen and Yiu families voiced their displeasure in interviews about Yuen Kay-San's portrayal in the movie on Yip Man, movie producer Si Kwok Lam and co-producer Yip Chun apologized six times and " served tea " to Yuen Kay San's grandson, Yuen Jo Tong, for misrepresenting, and being disrespectful to, the legendary death duel champion during the 1920-1950s, Yuen Kay San.

Daai Yuk 大玉禪師 ( pinyin: Dà Yù Chán Shī ; Yale Cantonese: Daai6 Yuk6 Sim3 Si1 ) was a Chan Buddhist master who is credited with teaching Southern Dragon Kung Fu, or Lung Ying 龍形拳, to Lam Yiu Gwai.

This four-hour programme is hosted by Wong Wing, Yeung Chun Yiu, Chan Chung, Lam Tsz Kit, Yau King Fan and Lam Yu Yan.

Going towards the east direction, it then passes by some suburban areas such as Wu Kai Sha ( 烏溪沙 ), Cheung Muk Tau ( 樟木頭 ), Sai O ( 西澳 ), Nai Chung ( 泥涌 ), Mak Pin ( 麥邊 ), Che Ha ( 輋下 ), Ma Ku Lam ( 馬牯纜 ), Tai Tung ( 大洞 ), Tin Liu ( 田寮 ), Nga Yiu Tau ( 瓦瑤頭 ), Kei Ling Ha Lo Wai ( 企嶺下老圍 ), Kei Ling Ha San Wai ( 企嶺下新圍 ) and Wong Chuk Wan ( 黃竹灣 ), until it reaches Sai Kung Town.

Lam and Jeung would open several schools together, and Southern Dragon style and Jeung's style of Bak Mei share many similarities.

The New World Group held half of the shares, while the Lam family owned one-third and Lai Sun held one-sixth.

Fokienia hodginsii is native from southeastern China ( provinces of Zhejiang, Guizhou, Yunnan and Fujian ) to Northern Vietnam ( provinces of Ha Bac, Ha Giang, Ha Tinh, Hoa Binh, Son La, Nghe An, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Thanh Hoa, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai and Vinh Phu ), west central Vietnam ( provinces of Dac Lac, Gia Lai, Lam Dong ), and west to northern Laos.

The second heaviest losses were during the U. S. Army's final offensive of the war, operation Dewey Canyon II ( Dewey Canyon II was an operation in support of the ARVN Lam San 719 Operation, in which the code 719 meant the year 1971 along Route 9 ), when the cavalry's remaining Sheridan Squadrons met near disaster on the Lao border during the early months of 1971, in particular the 1st Squadron of the 1st Cavalry Regt.

Built together with Kai Tin Road were Ping Tin Street, On Tin Street and Tak Tin Street, which all served Lam Tin Estate.

Pik Wan Road and Lin Tak Road were also built in 1992 to facilitate transport to newly-built areas higher up Lam Tin Hill.

Between 1989 to 1994, Lam Tin MTR Station, Laguna City and Pik Wan Road were built.

To serve these newly populated areas, three new bus termini were constructed: Lam Tin MTR Bus Terminus, now commonly named Lam Tin Bus Terminus as shown on the wall painting of the terminus ; Laguna City Bus Terminus, which took up routes originally terminating at Kwun Tong Ferry ; and Kwong Tin Bus Terminus, with new routes initiated to serve exclusively Lam Tin and the area nearby.

Blocks 1 to 14 of Lam Tin Estate were built between 1962 and 1965 as type 4 public housing buildings ( 第四型公屋 ); the other 10 towers were built between 1969 and 1975 as type 6 public housing buildings ( 第六型公屋 ).
