With the departure of the Roman Legions in the early 5th century, the now unprotected territory was invaded and colonised by the Anglo-Saxons.

Legions now quiet will swarm out and sting us to death.

These were infantry units of around 1, 000 men rather than the 5, 000, including cavalry, of the old Legions.

These sets were collectively called Adversaries, and included Soldiers of the Queen ( a " company " of 20 British infantry ), Legions of Mars ( a warband of 20 Martians ), Kraag Warriors ( 20 High Martians, 10 each flying and walking ), and Victorian Adventurers ( 10 diverse personalities, as seen in Temple of the Beastmen ).
